Landscaped the yard this weekend

Since I sold the car a year ago I have to keep myself busy with something. So I modded the house this weekend. I’ve been meaning to do this since I bought the house, and finally got around to it. I’m really, really sore now…

Before

Planning phase, white spray paint as a guide

I rented a bed edger from Home Depot. Made things so easy, I don’t think it would have been possible any other way.

Finished with the edging. Now to remove the grass. I tried to do it by hand but it ended up taking forever and wore me out, so I went back to Home Depot and rented a tiller to get the rest of the job done.

Put the weed block down. And the dog in the side yard making sure I’m doing it right.

Finished! About 14 bags of Mulch… plants to come.

Oh and I did the tree too.

Took me and the fiance both days to finish everything, including repainting the porch. It came out better than expected, I just have to figure out what kind of plants I need to put in.

looks good! how come u didnt go along the sidepath to the driveway as well?

came out nice…should have done it all at once tho.

Easier to plant then dig all that back up.

I was thinking about it, but sometimes people have to walk on the lawn to get to the passenger side of the cars so they would be treading over the bed and plants.

Overall it won’t be bad to put plants in, just slide the mulch over, cut the weed block, dig a small hole and drop it in.

Huge improvement.

looks good. good landscaping makes a huge difference

Nice man…I should really tend a bit to my place…some things need to be done…

Nice job.

Put together a drawing of the landscape bed and draw out the plants and trees you want to put in.

I bought all of my plants/trees from Northridge nursery in West Seneca. Nice stuff.

nice job. I would edge the border with some stones or edging.

I love doing shit like that. I can’t wait until I own my own house so I can do little projects around the yard.

I am surprised you did the tree by the street usually that property is owned by the town…

regardless nice work

+2. While it looks great now your mulch is going to be spilling onto the grass every time it rains. Plus when you try to mow around the curved edge the mower is going to suck up mulch as well.

Nice work. I have spent the last couple nice weekends replacing my sump pump drain line. I have a pretty big mess in my backyard right now

I want to get that all done then do some landscaping as well.

Good job and glad ya finally painted the porch!

that’s what a line trimmer(weed wacker) is for

landscaping/gardening is super rewarding, but it f’ing sucks so bad when you’re doing it…

luckily our house came very nicely landscaped but they overplanted (to my taste), and it is sooo much to take care of.

looks good man

Except without an edge to trim against it ends up throwing the mulch everywhere.

Trust me, i made this same mistake with the mulch on the left side of my house. It looked great for about 3 weeks, then we got a heavy rain and a bunch of it got washed into the grass.

looks good man

Nice work Jordan.
