Don’t beat yourselves up too much. Cars are a form of entertainment to us. You always pay for things you enjoy whether it be cars, women, drugs, or a good beer. Just remember how much fun it was at the time, you paid for an experience in life.

I guess you could include those costs, including insurance, but everyone has to pay those fees no matter what. If you graphed your totals it would end up as a bias error as it would average out as more or less a constant as the fees are generally the same unless you include the fact that your insurance rate fluctuates.

i wouldnt count on insurance, because of the great degree of variance here (this site is of 12 yr olds upto 55 yr olds).
However, those people who say they made $500 on a car are wrong, once they remember that they’ve given a fair chunk of that to NYS.
Then obv there is insurance & maintenance again.
