Well, long story short I no longer have the room to build the CRX or store it in the winter. So I decided to sell it & find something that could be used all year round but still could be built to be an impressive car. I stumbled upon this gem a little back & when I saw it was only 3 miles from my house I had to go check her out. So here it is. I picked up a 1993 Audi URS4, 5 speed with the 2.2 turbo (main reason for buying the car). Clocks in at just under 162k & well, she needs some loving. The paint looks like brushed aluminum, has a little bit of a misfire when under load (round 2500-4000) & has a exhaust leak somewhere in 1 of the cats. Other than that though it’s very solid & clean. Interior has no rips, stereo works & aside from some Samco hoses it’s 100% stock…for now :excited
So here’s my plan for this. For now, clean it up, fix the misfire & build an exhaust for it & that’ll be it for the winter. But my plans for it in the long run are:
-3071r Turbo
-034 Motorsports Chipset
-440cc injectors
-Full Exhaust
-B5 S4 Steering wheel
-Lower it a tad
-Probably replace the red hose with a black 1
-New valve gasket, wrinkle black for the valve cover
-Probably do the 1.8t coil swap at some point
-B5 Celebration wheels
I’m pretty excited to have this car now & to start the slow process of building it. It’s not going to be anywhere near the level of Nick’s 200 but I’m hoping it’ll be a fun project. Here’s some pics, let me know what you guys think.
Does it work? If not, make it. Those are so baller, what better way to let your buddies know you’re on your way to the Casino than with one of those fucking things?
Well I want the car to be running 100% before I even consider doing any turbo swaps or tunes. Once my 2.0T coil swap comes from 034Motorsports & I can see if that takes care of the misfire I’ll go from there. I may just do a simple stage 1 tune & not mess with the turbo. I really don’t know. Like I said in my 1st post about the car, it will not be anywhere near Nick’s 200.
Had today off so I decided to roll the s4 into the garage & tinker with it some more. Started to clean up the engine bay a bit, slowly but surely getting there. My 2.0T coil swap kit from 034Motorsports should be in tomorrow so hopefully that’ll fix my misfire. I picked up a Forge DV from a buddy of mine so I decided to throw that in today as well. The stock DV was super glued to a line…pretty impressed :banghead so I cut a new line & put it in with no super glue. I’ll be doing the valve gasket tomorrow as well as painting the valve cover. Car’s been great though, can’t wait to actually have it running 100%.
Well, right now I’m waiting on my new electric water pump to come in from ECS but here’s an update on the s4. I painted the valve cover wrinkle black, cleaned the intake mainfold up a bit (still figuring out a color), & threw a nice new coolant tank in her to clean up the engine bay. I’m probably going to remove the red intake to intercooler hose & find a black 1 instead (not too big of a fan on the red). Once the new water pump comes in, it’ll be back to figuring out the misfire…Here’s some pics:
