holy rolf, I should of did that
Subaru has a great deal on an impreza rs i think its like 189 a month. Talk to jeff at northown(si01) on the board. Not the fastest thing but they do have a little get up and go and AWD.
Edit: this is from subarus site:
SPECIAL LEASE OFFER* ON 06 SUBARU IMPREZA 2.5i SEDAN with manual transmission.
Now through September 5, 2006 - $169 per month for 48 months with $1,294 due at lease signing. $0 refundable security deposit. Tax, title, and registration fees extra. Other leases available on other models.
P.S. Rob joyce sent you!!!
Mind you, your “performance” car is going to also cost you a lot more than a granny-mobile…
Insurance is probably going to fuck you
Assuming you go with WRX, GTO, the likes.
Not sure about WRX’s but GTO’s for some reason unbeknownst to me are really reasonable on insurance. My insurance went DOWN $87 for 6 months when I switched my '96 V6 Firebird for the GTO, and a guy on LS1GTO from buffalo who went from an '04 GTP to an '04 GTO saved almost half.
wtf?
I know WRXs are pretty bad, because of all the fagor kids rolling around thinking they are Petter Solberg and AWDrifting into stationary objects or ditches.
I should also point out that my insurance company thinks I’m 56 and not 21, that might have something to do with it.
:bloated:
wtf?
someone i know leased a new Impreza and its around like $150 or so a month. I think he put like 3 grand down with a trade…or iot may have been 2, i cant remember. i am pretty sure this is the same offer RobHimself is talking about.
but just to clear a few misconceptions up ypu might have about it…its not a “rental car special” model…his has power windows, locks, sunroof, 5 speed, actual rims (no steelies with hubcaps) and a few other goodies im prob forgetting. It doesnt have leather (although the cloth they put in those things is sweet, and i personally like it better than leather), and it doesnt have power seats. He also opeted for the lower-end stereo (i think it was like the one right above the ‘base’ stereo) mostly because we worked at Stereo Advantage and got audio stuff dirt cheap so he just put his own system in. I think thats about it…i drove it when he first got it and to be honest, i think in terms of ‘bang for the buck’ that car was one hell of a deal. Last I talked to him, he said his only regret was not sucking it up and paying a little extra to get something with a turbo (i think that would have to be a WRX?), but for basic, reliable transportation that you can have a little fun with, its a really good deal for the money.
EDIT: now that i think about it, he did end up buying a short throw shifter from Subaru, cuz the stock one was pretty sloppy.
Dad has the same first name and middle initial, but different middle name so I’m not a junior. Thus, when I got the lease authorization that requires insurance in the name of “Joseph A.”, we went with the older Joseph A. Since my legal residence is my apartment, I’m just permanently borrowing the car. But no matter how old you are, the insurance still is cheap across the board, and went down from a 10 year old V6 F-bod for it. Compared to his C6 on the same policy, its between 1/3 and 1/2 the rate.
i was wondering how long it would take walter to come here and say that…lol
ehhh i kinda agree, but i think it depends on your situation. if you want a car thats gonna be reliable, somewhat affordable, has a warrantee, and something that you will want to get rid of in a coupple years anway, then leasing is not a bad idea. if you plan on keeping the car for a long time, then you are better off just making payments on it because i think that leasing a car then buying out the lease is kind of a waste.
mayb I should have thought about this myself, rather than paying $250 a month on a 8 year old truck that doesnt run at the moment.
leasing only works if you do it 2-3 times in a row and put little or no money down…or you’re rich and don’t give a fuck
the thing to remember about leasing is if you put a lot of money down…you get nothing back at the end. So you can drive a really cool car for a couple years…and then you have nothing.
How? They base it on your VIN.
P.S. Getting married helps immensely
lol my mustang title said that it was a V6 :D… but I still got charged for the GT
and yeah, I dont want to buy because I won’t be keeping it long (as with most of the cars I’ve owned). Figured that leasing is a better option to always be in something newer.
the problem I keep running into when I buy is, by the time I want to get rid of it, I still owe $$$ on it and get stuck paying extra $$$ from the depreciation so I might as well lease. The only thing I don’t like about leasing is the modding part… but I guess it gives me an excuase not to throw $$$ out the window
Yeah the reason I leased is because I pretty much needed to get out of my WRX…it was upside by like 1k…so I leased super cheap and rolled the difference over into the lease. In about 14 months I’ll be able to get a new car, which I plan on buying/financing to start over. I am sure I lost some $, but with the condition of the WRX I was MORE than glad to get rid of it.
They listed it as a 2.5 never mentioned the turbo and it was like 1000 cheaper than progressive. (unitrin direct FTMFW)
Steve get the rs i need $50
as far as Geico is concered, i drive a 4 cylender, 2-wheel drive Dakota :gotme:
Joe, you leased a used car on lease trader??? that payment plan you got is tits
