Decided it was time to replace our 10 year old mattress. We stopped at a couple stores but found it really difficult to choose based on laying on one for a couple minutes. After doing more online research trying to narrow it down I kept seeing people recommend Leesa. Consumer reports ranked the Leesa well too. You buy it online, it comes shipped right to your door and best of all you get a 100 night risk free trial. If for any reason you decide you don’t like you call Leesa an they arrange a local charity to come pick it up and give you a 100% refund.
Placed an order and about a week later a surprisingly small for a queen mattress sized box showed up on my doorstep. The mattress comes folded, rolled and vacuum packed which explains the smallish box. After cutting it out of the plastic it expanded to mostly full size within an hour and by the next day it was the advertised thickness.
We’ve both been really impressed with it and sleeping way better than we were. I’d say the memory foam is somewhere between a firm and soft mattress. It provides enough support for my back but it considerably softer than the firm spring mattress it replaced. At first we thought we wanted to try a softer mattress so we ordered one of Leesa’s competitors, the Noomi, but after sleeping on the Noomi about a week my back was really starting to bother me. The funny thing was after a couple nights on the Noomi we thought we were going to keep it and setup the return with Leesa (which really was as simple as a single 2 minute phone call). It wasn’t until several nights later that my back let me know I needed a firmer mattress. A call to Noomi to setup their return (which was not as convenient as Leesa but I did still get a 100% refund) and an email to Leesa to cancel that return and we were all set. If anything this proved I will never buy another mattress in a store based on a couple minutes laying on a demo in store.
If anyone is interested I have a referrer link that gets you $75 off plus a $25 Target gift card: http://refer.leesa.com/djwlj
I’ll be up front and say I get $50 if you actually buy one, but I’ve been on here long enough that I think you guys know I wouldn’t be on here pitching this thing if I didn’t like mine. In fact we got the Leesa back in mid February and I decided to wait until now to post this just to make sure we stayed happy with it.
Bottom line, you really can’t go wrong if you’re in the market for a new mattress. Order one and try it for up to 100 nights. If for any reason you aren’t happy get a 100% refund.
I have been looking into these there a few internet to home mattress places now and all the reviews are bloggers/SEO/bullshit makes it hard to find facts
I’ve been very happy with my king sized Serta iComfort that I bought based on recommendations from on here. I am however looking at replacing my spare room’s queen sized mattress soon. My wife or myself sleep in there occasionally based on schedules or if someone isn’t feeling well. Always skeptical al of online reviews. Been curious about these, glad to hear they’re as good as they sound.
We’ve been on opposite schedules since I’ve been working thirds since October, plus me adapting to using CPAP has been a pain in the ass. Can’t say wifey & I have ever been that mad at each other. Yet…
We have a knockoff memory foam mattress too. Dormia brand. Freaking love it, it’s been almost 8 years and it’s still same as new. We did put a softer memory foam topper on it to give it a super plush first layer.
I also highly recommend these off brand memory foam mattresses.
I bought a mattress off @Geoff for my spare bed. It’s really nice, especially when I’m half in the bag and my wife doesn’t want to hear me snoring all night.
Went with the memory foam one of these and love it. Went and tried the temperpedics to find the “type” we wanted and spoke to the guy at dreamfoam to dial in a comparable model. Very happy with the purchase, had it about a year now. Lots of reviews on this one if you search for it. You can buy it direct from them or from amazon.
Those foam beds are interesting. I spent on one in my brother’s condo last month in Buffalo. Slept pretty well.
We went though several types of coil spring mattresses, by far the worst is the coil spring pillow top mattress. Thing sags in the middle after a year and you throw it in the garbage. I think it was Serta.
Got down here and bought a local store mattress made in Texas. Coil spring. Works fine, but we moved it to the guest room.
Now we are sleeping on a Ikea coil pocket spring, with the springs covered in foam. Very good product. Paid about $600 for a king mattress with wood ikea bed. The mattress was 50 percent off.
I’ll add this, they need to be on a flat foundation. No box springs. Most of the foundations I found at the time that would fit our existing bed frame were way shorter than our old box spring and the wife wanted the bed up as high as the old one so I just built a box spring sized foundation topped with plywood.
A few months after I bought mine GhostBed came up with a better solution.
