Lets get a track day organized(road course)

Yeah, it was bad. That was the next day after driving back from Dunnville. Lots of engine braking on the way home that day.

EDIT: Those where the stock pads from the first time I tracked the GTO, not the EBC’s. I had the two confused in my memory until I found the picture. The EBC yellows had about an 1/8th inch left but had started to chip off around the edges.

$110 is cheap for a pad (for the Yellows), if I wear a gambling man I would say that a Carbortech XP12 would last three or more times as long at twice the price. But without being able to do back to back comparisons at the same track at the same temps I can not make such a claim.

For the price Yellows should be fine at Nelson.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I should be in for this.

Others have said the same about the EBC pads. You might try PBR Ceramic Ultimate (I read same as Axis Ultimates) Probably OE on Corvettes. I have put PBR pads on a few of my cars and I really like them. They say for high performance use and that they can be used on track right on the box.

Also, I think I still have some 2000 V8 Firebird LS1 Carbotech XP panther pads, precursor to the xp12 sitting around somewhere. I bought them with a “track weekend” on them, they have about 3/8 pad left. not sure if they translate to the goat, but I have heard Carbotechs are very good pads.

I ran Axxis Ultimates on my Z at Dunnville. The pads didn’t seem to wear at all… but I only have about 5 laps (if I remember correctly) until I had fade.

Maybe no so good for the heavy cars then

I would look into Carbotech’s guys. I’m working on setting up with an account with them but I don’t mean this to be a sales pitch for me. They’re amazing pads and have a compound for pretty much every skill level/track type.

I don’t have much experience with different pads but when I ran Hawk HP+ they had moderate so sever fade so mike at innovative suggested Hawk HT-10 pads for my SHO. My brake issues are no longer with my pads anymore. For me they work great. Possibly not the cheapest way to go but with the pad life I am getting and the performance I don’t mind spending 200 bucks on pads.

what type of requirement does my helmet need to meet? (Sorry for all the idiot questions)

and how many people are going on 9/11 to nelson?

is there a watkins glen day we can go to that’s around the same time? anyone want to get a group together?

SA2005 or better.

WGI I believe there is a PCA two day (best price/group IMO) in late Sept/Early Oct.

Definitely still in for Nelson.

Nelson really doesnt enforce Helmet specifications from what I remember, they just require that you wear one.

Most clubs are still accepting SA2000 Helmets for the remainder of this year including Niagara PCA

Watkins Glen Niagara PCA 2 day DE is Oct 10-11th, cost is $325 for both days.

I will be going to this event

I am in for 9/10 and 9/11.

I plan on hitting one of the last 2 events at Nelson in October. My friend with the 67 911 will probably go, along with Big E. Should be fun, wait, scratch that. It WILL be fun!

Where is there info on the driving school sept 10? Can we camp there or need a hotel?

I sent an email out to see how many were per-registered, but didn’t get a reply.

Probably should just call her:

Yes, you can camp.

I should probably get to fixing the SHO for the event on the 11th

I just tried calling, no answer. I also emailed…

I want to go saturday for the driving school

My car should be completed by mid september.
I would love to get it to an event.
