buffalo pd did that or ub police?
that seems like A LOT of work for buffalo pd to do
i lived downtown for about 7 years and NEVER had an issue with buffalo pd.
as a matter of fact i treated every road in the city as a 45-50mph zone

I am not whining about getting caught. I paid for the ticket, no big deal. I am just saying leave the good guys alone.
Sorry but you also can’t rule that out.
Sometimes I feel like they’re jealous of people with better cars so they make it hard for you.
That sucks and thanks that does make me feel better. I do hate douchebags like that.
To be fair APD catches a ton of warrants, burglary suspects and other more serious criminals doing their routine traffic stops. I’ve never seen a statistic proving it but I bet people running around with expired tags are probably more likely to have committed other crimes than their properly registered and insured fellow motorists.
I lost interest at I’m a current blah blah blah…
So long as the letter makes you feel better, that is all you can hope to achieve.
Send it registered mail so at least you inconvenienced someone a little.
Did the officer mistreat you? Did he profile you in any way during the citation? Was this day/night?
Honestly, you have no grounds to complain. You were in the wrong (which you admitted) and he was doing his job. We all know that there are more important things for cops to do, especially in that area, but if he was just sitting parked then why not continue to do his job?
Trust me, I hate it when Buffalo cops go out of their way for bullshit traffic violations and have been ticketed before, but I knew it was my fault. Side note: I can honestly say that I’d rather have a Buffalo cop pull me over than most suburb cops. They always seem to be much more pleasant.
A couple weeks ago, I got 3 tickets in one stop in the city. I rolled a stop sign. Fair enough, give me the ticket and let me on my way. I’ll just plead guilty, take the points (I don’t have any at the moment) for a couple years and suck it up. But no - he wasn’t done - gives me 2 more tickets. One for a front lic. plate cover. And the other for a rear lic. plate cover. He even has the nerve to then tell me to just plead not guilty to them all, tell the judge I removed the plate frames, and those will be thrown out. So finally, after being COMPLETELY polite the entire time, I finally say, “Then why the fuck did you give me them?” He responds with, “Have a nice night.”
This was in the Riverside/Black Rock/North Buffalo border area. I can not even imagine how many other more important things they could have been tending to in that area at that moment, but this is what you get when people sign up for a title for the benefits, and not the real job itself. Some of the worst types of people are in these positions. Some of them should even be shot. But there is not much you can do about it. Try to stay legal, try to go inconspicuous, try to obey the laws…that is all you can do…
Which is odd because I make more money then you do
To the OP how do you think cops cut down on crime? They stop people for what they can and see what else it leads to. If you had a car load of LCD TVs it might raise their suspicion etc
Police departments generate revenue it’s no longer about protecting and serving. I was recently in St Louis and the cops there are allowed to use these black SUVs with radar/cameras that send off speeding ticket in the mail. After sometime every small town even ones with 1 cop were investing in this technology the state made a law saying towns couldn’t have more then X percent of their town revenue from tickets if they exceeded it they face fines etc.
to his point, UB could throw their weight around and make that place nicer. They just dont.
I’m sure you don’t. But on top of that it all boils down to what people can attain and how much they can put it to work. Id be willing to say my investments alone this year add up to about what you make in a year. A net worth comparison im sure isnt a territory you would want to weigh in on.
I hope this brings down whatever you thought that comment would draw out. I just call it like I see it. You have been the jealous type as long as i’ve known you. You can’t be in the nice area of the city. Probably never will have the means and it bothers you. Most people who do well aren’t terribly material in my experience and are driven by results more then things like how much someone earns. Shift your focus to results and maybe you too one day will have the things you desire.
That was pretty funny.
You brought up money you jackass
I just got a ticket in the mail yesterday, from the French Authorities, 4 months later, camera caught me speeding in rental car, I’d rather have your ticket, Euros > Dollars
you might want to use proper grammar.
FYI many police cars are equipped with plate readers now, so if your driving around with expired tags its a easy ticket for the officer to make.
Here is a slightly related story, I knew someone in college wrote “For fucking donuts” in the comment section in a check for a parking ticket. The police later came to his house and arrested him for harassment.
I have no need. His agenda is clear and he trolls at any given opportunity. His defense was one that I could back up any day if that is the route he wants to go to feel good about it. His lame ass “city sucks” attutide has been noted. Might as well just start asking if it ia AWD.
Not relative to money I have. Relative to why I believe you hold that view from what I know about you is all. Sorry but if you can troll and be a PITA all the time I find I should be able to as well.
I hold that view because the city has nothing useful to offer me I have no desire to live there.
It has nothing to do with the means to live there.
The concept of “living in the city” and having a 250-300k+ house next to shitty neighborhoods isn’t something I want to do.
If I made millions it still wouldn’t change my mind
I’m not sure where you’re going with results driven I couldn’t be happier where my career has taken me.
I dont think you have never lived in the city so I take your views with a grain of salt as far as daily life. Yes there are bad areas. I think the burbs have not as nice sections as well. Proximity might be closer in the context of the city but I hardly feel like I am invaded by or hindered by this in my daily life.
My example of “means” could have been better but I hold to the fact that I think your distaste of the city is deeper then just the bad areas. Ex: Hipsters.
Also I find the fact that people think my comment of means to begin with had anything to do with MY means. [sarcasm]Yeah i sure think LZs thoughts of the city revolve around me[/sarcasm]…
