To those who rant about cops...

If you bitch about getting a ticket you deserve or the use of a tazer by officers, read this.
The year 2007 is turning out to be an especially deadly year for police.
To date, 170 law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty – that’s nearly a third more than at the same point last year. It’s also 17 percent higher than in all of 2006, and there is more than a month remaining in the year.
shit, bro

23,462 people died as a result of smokeing last month. maybe a bunch of those cops died from that while on duty.

I’m sorry, but with my dad being an officer, I don’t appreciate comments like that. I bet none of these deaths are because of accidents.

So you can’t rant about a ticket because cops die on the job? :bloated:

My family has it’s share of LEO’s on both sides and I definitely respect what they do for us. 90% of people get what they deserve, although there are some shitty cops with ego’s to match. I’ve always given nothing but courtesy and respect to every cop that pulls me over.

It’s sad to see our police get paid what they do, when a guy catching a football can make 100x what a teacher or PO makes… I know I wouldn’t protect your asses for the little that they make.

Most of the people on this site whine when they get a ticket for doing something wrong or when they can’t get out of a ticket. They complain that cops must have nothing better to do that and they are pricks they were nice and still didn’t get out of it. If a cop has a bad day and doesn’t cut you a break, STFU.

There are plenty of “I got a ticket for doing something wrong” threads on this site.

Many cops it his area are douche bags because tickts have turned into a big business for the towns. (Buffalo PD Excluded because those are real fucking cops)
Fucktards in this area dont deserve to be compared to other PDs in the nation that do real police work.

Why are the cops in this area fucktards or dbags? You must have a very good reason to think that.

Because the suburbs don’t have a homicide every 15 seconds and don’t have to deal with an insane amount of heavy narcotics they can’t write tickets to assholes that can’t obey simple traffic violations? Granted I like knowing I’m not going to get pulled over by a BPD for doing 10 over, I also like feeling somewhat safe driving on a 2 lane road. So before you go calling out LEO’s douche bags I suggest you take a look at what they do for us. Also, wasn’t Amherst rated number 4 safest city in NY? I’ll take that shit over the crime infested downtown of buffalo or rochester any day.

:lolham: Maybe do a search and look at all the threads where BPD wouldn’t even lift a finger to help people with the various crimes reported to them.

Hell, what about the guy who’s truck was stolen from the party, he found it, called BPD multiple times while following his stolen truck around, and they wouldn’t get off their asses? He finally had to flag down a transit cop.

I had my own run in with the useless BPD when I lived in the shithole city. Some guy went all road rage on me, tried to run me down in the parking lot. I ended up on his hood when he plowed into a parked car, jumping just in time to avoid losing my legs. Asshole BPD officer takes me statement HOURS after calling, interviews the guy (someone in the lot got a plate #), the guy gives him some BS story about not knowing who was using the car and BPD refuses to do anything further because, and I quote, “We’ll never know for sure who was driving”. Fuck you asshole, round up all the possible people and let me ID them. No matter how much I pleaded that was the end of it. Had it happened today, when I’m older and wiser, it would have ended up in court. But typical BPD brushing off a serious crime because they can.

Fuck BPD, they are the most useless police force in all of WNY, possibly the state but I haven’t had personal experience with all the NY police forces to make that judgement.

Fuck BPD, they are the most useless police force for a 400 mile radius.

And thats why Buffalo is NOT one of the safest cities to live in. I enjoy Amherst. Never get a ticket, officers are always polite, and I know our town doesn’t need the money.

Vegas
OP
Depew
West Seneca
All fit in that, “are you fucking kidding me” rant.

Another great recent example of your “real cops”

Maybe touting BPD was a stretch but I have more respect for them then Amherst any day. BPD is busy dealing with shootings and real scumbags… not following cars around after 1am and making somebullshit up to pull them over.

Amherst was voted safest city in america because their fucking cops are up everyones ass 24hrs a day. You cant fucking spit without getting a summons.

Living in a police state would also be very safe. Sounds like thats what some of you suburbanite, letter of the law, hippocite, poster boys are leaning towards. Have fun with that shit. Fuck Amherst.

I always felt more comfortable driving in Buffalo. You always have to watch your back in Amherst, Tonawanda, and Depew. Miserable uncomfortable feeling.

i understand the need for cops, the world would be a shitty place without them. But statements like that are make me wonder if you have a brain. i like cops… thats why I, and so do you, we pay their salaries. not to be pedantic but sorry speaking on behalf of the medical field, a cop doesnt need to go to school nor do they have any “special” skill per se. People get paid in accordance with the skills they posess(learned in school). i apologize ahead of time since my figures are from 2004 (but the salaries are higher now due to inflation etc), in buffalo they get paid $56,380.00 a yr, as the lowest ranking officer. I hate to break it to you guys but thats not that little. You want to be paying them a million a yr youre an idiot because then taxes would go up and it would come right out of our pockets. other jobs like Dr’s you come out of school with $2-300,000 in debt at the age of early to mid thirties. You take an officer exam and get trained, big shit. You put your life on the line which is very noble, but they agreed to it, theyre hired enforcers by us the people. A football player doesnt wake up one day and say i want to catch a ball, they have to train for yrs AND posess the necessary skills to be payed that much. Do you know how many kids want to be professional athletes, and are really good, but just not good enough? Its darwinism survival of the fittest. if a Dr. gets paid $380,000 a yr, well im sorry but my malpractice costs about $140,000 a yr not to really cover my ass incase i leave my pager in your spleen, but for some WASP woman to bitch that she “cant breath as well” after a gaudy rhinoplasty so she can look like britney spears, sue even after signing the consent waivers to the dangers of the procedure, and win because the legal system fails us again, just like oj, with unformed vacillating idiots on the jury…

basically… im not bitching, there are just known risks in every profession… nobodys forcing you to do it. so if i get sued thats part of the job, if a football player breaks their neck and are paralyzed forever, part of the job, when people get a ticket they dont think they deserve and tell a cop off, its part of the job…
im not singling you out, im saying in general the world is perhaps an unequal place, people should just STFU and live life, enjoy it, and if someone has a shitty job, and makes no money, they should do something about it themselves instead of complaining how life is so cruel

If you don’t drive like a complete jackass or have illegal shit on your car APD won’t even look at you. And when you call them about a crime, they help. That’s a real cop. Protect and Serve ya know? When I called 911 about smoke in my basement an APD car was at my house in less than a minute.

Anyone that knows me knows I drive very aggressively. I’ve lived and worked in Williamsville for over 5 years I have been pulled over twice. First time I just wasn’t paying attention early one sunday morning, crossed sheridan going up youngs at 51 mph. 51 is fine north of sheridan in the 45, not so good in the 35 south of sheridan. My fault, cop wasn’t a dick or anything, reduced to parking. The other I was doing at least 40 in a 30, sideways around the S curve by my work. Cop came up yelling, I just sat there and said, “yeah, I’m an idiot”. 3 tickets on that one.

Beauty of Amherst though, two tickets got dropped (unsafe tire and plate cover fixit tickets) and the third was dropped to parking (failure to keep right). I didn’t really fail to keep right, maybe the far rear corner, but the majority of the car was still right.

ooooooh. A cop walked out of a liquor store with a paper bag. OOOOhh.
If they were providing security to the liquor store, even against policy, maybe there was a REAL REASON the store needed that kind of security.

Good lord. Buffalo deals with violence and drugs more often than the suburbs, but its inner city vs suburbia, what do you expect? You can’t be that oblivious to the amount of drug arrests/busts made in the suburbs are you? You don’t hear about it because they are kept quiet and out of the public eye. Drive around the hot drug spots in the city and run the license plates of the cars parked outside, they will all come back registered suburbia land.

You don’t feel safe because you have to watch your back over moving violations, are you serious? Wow that is so unsafe :bloated:. So you feel safe in the city where there is an abundance of territorial violence and shootings, that make perfect sense I guess :gotme:.
