maybe i could get a sick US based plan with low roaming and then reduce my Rogers plan to the minimum and have all the calls forwarded to my US number…
at $80 usd per month plus say $30 cdn per month that would be sweet, it woudl cut my monthly bill in half

i use 1800 minutes in Canada every month, prolly only 100 - 200 are US calls, the rest of the minutes are in canada or from canada.
if i reduced my rogers plan to $30 a month and forwaded all my cdn calls to that phone i could just use the US phone but it looks like roaming is 49 cents a minute = not cool.
i used to have a bell plan at $30 a month + 10 cents a minut elong distance which was usually $140 a month or so, but i use the phone almost twice as much now.
thing is, my fiance is in a different area code, but wont be soon, so we wont need as many minutes or as much long distance.
I use about 1600-2000 minutes a month within Canada, I have access to free long distance by other means, but I haven’t been able to find a very good plan in Canada.
My last phone bill was $120. I think Rogers has a plan which includes unlimited incomming calls which I’m considering switching to, otherwise our plans are pretty shit.
Bing, be sure to leave feedback about the ripoff. If/when I buy on Howardforums, I make sure to check the feedback of the seller. I wouldn’t want to buy from a person who doesnt stand behind their product.
What benefit is to buying a Cell Phone that has no contract? You must buy a contract to operate it anyways right? If I bought a GSM phone that was unlocked and from someone on HForums.com how would I be able to use it if it has no contract? Anyways thanks for your help.
i pay $250 + per month on my cell plan and refuse to sign a contract because if i get pissed off i switch immediately… i’ve done it twice.
i also cancelled with rogers 2 months ago and wound up with a $245 credit because they see i am not on a plan and spending mad $$$ so they take that shit seriously.
when you buy a new phone you get a discount when you sign up for 3 years but that shit is ghey… they can do whatever they want to you when you are locked in for 3 years.
but i dont wanna go back with bell because my sim card has too much $hit on it now…

I have a T-Mobile sim which on a “pay as you go” plan. It costs me less to use it from Canada than the long distance on rogers, even with a T-Mobile roaming charge.
If you deal with the States a lot, you may want a US plan that can roam in Canada. It may be cheaper for you.
