LG Lucid vs. iPhone 4S

So I’m finally joining the 21st century and getting a smart phone. I really have no clue when it comes to phones, so I’m looking for opinions on the LG Lucid and iPhone 4S. I’m comfortable with apple products, but am not willing to pony up for the iPhone 5. The 4S will definitely meet my needs and I was planning on going with it until one of the guys in the Verizon store suggested the Lucid. He made it seem like it blows the 4S out of the water. I’m not crazy about how fast I can web browse on my phone, I’ll just be happy to have the ability to do it finally lol.

Anyways, I’m looking for pros and cons about each. I am partial to the iPhone but need to research this Lucid a bit more.

For the normal person who needs something that works well every day, hands down the iPhone

Remember, droids may be much more capable than an iPhone bro (f Steve jobs!!!) but they’re no use if the battery is constantly dead

You can get the Galaxy S3 for $99 on Verizon now and it blows them both out of the water. If you’re stuck with something for 2 years sometimes it’s better to spend a little more and not get something that’s a year old.

Between the two, I vote LG simply because if you’re on a budget, you don’t want to be paying out the ass to buy every little add-on from Apple at super marked up prices

For once I agree with Joe.!

Droid razr m

I don’t work in retail anymore, but I would say the razr m is a much better phone than the lucid

The choice between iphone and droid isn’t an easy one

Personally id get something with lte so if you want the iphone the only option is the five

Fuck the Windows phones, nobody develops for them shits.

couldn’t of said it better. Last December i had the best droid on the market and it would be dead before I even made it home after an 8 hour shift and I barely used the damn thing. Iphones battery life is much better and the phone itself will full charge from 0 in like an hour. Ive had my iphone 4 for the last year and have not had one single problem at all. I used the internet and a few apps and text/ fb alot during the day and I still have half a battery or more.

my good friend had a samsung android for the past 2 years. He recently switched to the iphone5, and wondered why he got an android in the first place. Well at least now he knows where the grass is greener? I can’t compare because i’ve never used an android, but iOS has served me so good that I haven’t had a compelling reason to switch.

Speaking of battery life. Isn’t the 5 now android horrible due to lte?

From my experience buying phones for people that are not “tech” people, the iPhones go over MUCH better. I love android, but I also love apple for different reasons. The iPhone is very intuitive in its design in that it is extremely easy to learn and use. Sure, android has a ton more capabilities, but you will never use them.

Go with apple, you won’t be disappointed, especially if you’re already comfortable with apple products

I wasn’t aware about the S3 being $99. After doing some more research, I’m swaying away from the Lucid. The S3 is intriguing for what it offers at the same price as a 4S. I just can’t seem to get myself to look away from the iphone though. I feel like almost everyone I see has one. I know it’s a risk buying a year old model, especially with the 5 just being released. But I’ve been used to cheap phones my entire life, and I usually hang on to them for at least 2 years, so I don’t see the 4S growing old on me. In a nutshell: I would use my phone to talk, text, check my e-mail, browse the web a little and use some apps. I think the 4S would fit the bill well for that.

.

there are rumors about the 5s coming in march… wait a few months and grab a 5 when they mark them down? if you need one that bad right now craigslist yourself an interim phone for a couple months to get you by then resell it…

If you haven’t figure this out with technology a new phone will be out every 6 months and guess what?

it will be better then the last one

Find a phone that works great at being a phone and you like to use it.

I’m a huge nerd and don’t go running out everytime some new phone comes out.

Only an apply person would say something about features not being used. I use nfc a couple times a week, saying cheese to take a picture, nice big screen when im skyping, and right now im using my phone for all my internet needs while im at a conference for the week. If I had to do that on the small iphone screen I would go nuts

The iphone is the only product of apple that I don’t care for, they make awesome tablets and laptops

I appreciate the responses…gonna have to play around with some phones this weekend at the verizon store.

this.

Not from what I’ve seen. My b-inlaw just sold his S3 over battery life issues and got an iPhone 5 and has been fine with it.

With minimal usage my SIII gets like 2 days on a charge.

Bet you keep your brightness real low and probably play the Android toggle game where you turn off things like GPS, Wifi and BT the second you’re done with them.

After an average day of use with no charging my S3 is tossing up the battery warning when I drop it in the cradle as I go to bed. Same use on my old iPhone 4 would have me between 55-60% battery. I refuse to play games turning off features and just work around it by keeping the phone plugged in at my desk. If I didn’t have a desk job (like my b-inlaw) I could see it being a big issue.
