License Plate Light Fixture

The light fixture above the rear license plate fell out on my car. The light doesn’t work so instead of letting it hang, I lifted it up into the empty space it fell out from, and put some duct tape so it doesn’t fall out. This is obviously a temporary solution.

I know that license plates have to be illuminated at night, I was wondering what my options are rather than spending $$$ at the dealership. The bolts and the housing for the license plate illuminator seem to be rusted, possibly causing it to break. Should I get a new bulb and get someone to weld a little metal plate to hang it off of?

If anyone has dealt with this issue before, which I’m sure some people have, could you please enlighten me? I’ve looked all over many forums, but couldn’t find anything relevant to my case.

Thanks guys,
Ahmad

there are holes in the plastic bumper just above the license plate. Find a universal light, wire it in and zip tie it to the holes.

I made a fiberglass bracket that holds 2 LED lights that I bolted to those holes, but i think this a little overboard for ur needs.

been driving without that light for 3 years now, lisecse plates are highly reflective so most people behind u won’t even notice, cops haven’t said anything to me yet… thats one option
or just put some random LED and zip tie it in place.
One LED will be bright enough if direted correctly
