Cossey finally convinced me to go to a track event with him yesterday. It was well worth the trip, saw some pretty nice cars (despite the fact there were no Lamborghinis there :’( ). Overall a good day.
That 360C was gorgeous, and the owners were very nice. That GT3 Cup car was insane though. Dude was cooking in that thing.
To those that weren’t there:
Regarding the ZL1 Camaro: One of the GM magazines were there testing the car out. I don’t know how well he did in it, as he was in one of the lower groups but the car left with all of it’s paint and bodywork in tact so that’s all that matters.
I won’t be going to anymore events at Lime Rock this year (most likely), but I will be doing a couple more at Watkins Glen and one at New Hampshire. Both are 3hrs away.
^ cossey let me know as well looks like a fun time, ive never been to a track day with regular people on the course usually its spronsored full race days with cars from turner, the mazdaspeed, apr vw’s and so on
i’m down for a road trip… hell, i drove up to plattsburgh on a whim today from saratoga lol
edit: i miss living 45 minutes away from VIR… i used to love going out there and watching track days, etc… now the only time i get to see that track is on speed channel
I didn’t take one shot of it because I thought it was the dumpiest looking thing there and I had no idea what I was looking at lol.
If I had a trailer and an extra set of wheels and tires for my S, I’d definitely do a few track days. Cossey was running the same tire (R888) that I have on my S2000 and the tread was boiling hot. Definitely hotter than you would get them during a 45 second Auto-X run. The tread felt like the sticky part of a Post-it note lol.
