I would say get out of that field i started at goodyear and moved to pepboys and then firestone and i will never work for a garage again.
IF you are permenant, you get a cost of living adjustment PLUS a raise which is negotiated with your union. As of now we are moving into to our last year of our negotiated raise 4%, but accoring to my local CSEA rep there isnt going to be another raise for a few year due to “the state financial difficulties”. Yes the state is the way to go the pay isnt the greatest, but its all about the benifits. dirt cheap health insurance and you get 3.75 hours of vacation and sick time every other week that just add up and a week of personal time. along with random holiday hours.
