Looking for an adapter for my fuel system...

I want to replace a section of rotted out steel fuel line with a rubber line for now. Here is a picture of the pump, notice the barbed fitting (seen on most fuel rails etc…)

That barbed fitting almost always has a plastic piece slide over it, and it “locks on”, so that the fuel doesn’t leak.

Does anyone know the best way to adapt this to a rubber fuel line? Ideally, I would like an adapter to go from that plastic piece sliding over I am mentioning above, to a hose barb, so that it will slip inside of the rubber fuel line. I am up for suggestions though. In the past, I have forced the rubber line over the fuel pump, and just used 2 - 3 fuel injection clamps to hold it on, but that is one level past hack.

Let me know what you can find or advise.

Here is a better picture of the fitting that I am trying to connect too, this fitting here is off of my fuel pump:

And here is another picture, this may make more sense, since it has the locking plastic piece on it already:

what thread is it I have a 10mm one sitting in my garage brand new but its barbed all the way

Mark, cut off the metal line after the plastic clip, JB weld the edge of the metal line so it has a “barb” of sorts, then stick the rubber hose over both and get a couple nice worm clamps.

No no, there is no thread anywhere. Check the first diagram I posted, it will make more sense. That one I showed with the threads was just an up close version of what the barb looks like.

And yeah mike, I probably am going to just slip the hose on it and clamp it good. Its < 50 psi fuel pressure with this regulator, and will not need to last too long. It will be all -6 or larger when needed.

Thanks.

And the work begins…

Begun last night, actually.

Might pop the head off today to take a look at everything. Definitely going to try to fix the fuel leak ASAP and then go from there.
