Ok here is the deal. I need to hook up this fuel coller into the fuel line but am unsure what I will need to make it happen. I have a few ideas but not sure what I need. Basically the attached picture is what I need and in that top section I have hook that to the fuel lines. would I just be better off cutting the hard fuel line underneith the car right before it enters the bottom of the engine bay and running braided lines up to the fuel bar and then out of the bar to the rail? Or should I go up top and work trying to splice this into the rubber fuel line
All I know is I have to use -6AN in and out of the fuel bar.
this bar is part of thet Cro kit I;m installing. Hopfully with in the next two years I’ll have everything done for the supercharger.
Basically I’m asking what would I need to insert this fuel bar into the fuel line. I have never played with fittings for the fuel system and such and have no Idea where to start.
When I say cutting in from undernieth the car I;m saying from under the car where the hard lines are do somthing like this and run braided the rest of the way to make it easier to hook up. :dunno:
Kurt is correct. He got all that stuff from summit. Now would that work? or is that a bad Idea to do that for the supply line to the rail? Also from what I think pewter told me the fuel lines are not under pressure. :dunno:
the fuel lines are under pressure it’s just whether you have the regulator up front or in the rear…either way your fuel system is under pressure from that point up he may have been talking about the return. all you do is go from inverted flare (with a flare tool) to an fittings we would have done this on the turbo celica project but having someone make a fuel rail worked much better. it doesn’t matter whether you do that to supply the rail or not it’s not hurting nor making anything better at your level
although i agreee with spangler about it being overkill i would honestly just spend the extra 20 or 30 bux and do it from the tank and have it done, -6an isn’t much bigger than factory line when it comes to inside diameter and you’ll have one step out of the way.
here are a couple pics of how we modified the celicas tank assembly i’d have more but the camera died
now the celica was a returnless setup but what we did was use the existing feed and made it the return and added our own braided feed line to a cartech fmu. (something you’d have to do once you go FI)
i’m saying that because of the application of your car (shows) and the fact you’re eventually doing a supercharger i would go all the way to the tank, it’s not much more to order another 5ft of line and make it work, if u can post pics of your fuel pump sending unit assembly i can give u an idea about how to do it (specially if it’s a return setup)
doesn’t have to be yours if u got a jbody one (pic) layirn around…we kinda tore into jims not knowing what to expect and it worked really good i’ll draw you a quick pic to give u an idea how we set everyything up so u know what youd be getting into
