Looking for help with SR swap

Thatnks for the advice, I had Chris come by today to do the wiring, he didn’t take the dash off or anything, he just rewired the harness. I think he did one before so i’m hoping he did it correctly :?

I am looking to get the engine dropped either tomorrow or friday, I am getting the driveshaft, but I noticed I dont have the tranny crossmember mount. So i’m gonna have to find that still. I still might need your master cylinder and clutch koukis14, not sure if mine are any good, all the shit I got with the engine is pretty messed up.

I basically have gotten to the point where I can’t get by on my knowledge alone, so I need a couple guys to help me drop the engine and hook everything up, Chris is supposed to come back and finish up some of the wiring and hook that up hopefully. We have a lift so we can drop the body onto the engine, plus all the tools in the world. Just looking some some ppl who wan’t mind helping and that know what they are doing.

So if anyone is willing to lend a hand either tomorrow or Friday please PM me I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

if you are doing this over the weekend (or friday night even) I can come by and help with the grunt work… I don’t have any tools that I can bring either…

but if you need any physical help with the swap, I can be there…

Hey thanks man, I have all the tools needed and a lift, dropping it in should not be a prob, just I have no idea when it comes to the hook ups and the wiring hook ups ect.

I’ll be there most likley tomorrow, friday, and saturday.

I could use a few guys who know what they are doing so that I get this done right, don’t wana mess anything up right.

Well I wanted to drop the engine today but i’m not sure what has to be done before I can do that, can anyone come by today and just show me what has to be done ect? The shop i’m using is getting pissed that my car is there on the lift so long so I really gotta drop this engine in so I can at least roll it off the lift.

Please give me a call 416-666-1781 if your available and willing lol.

Thanks,
Victor

It’s actually really straight forward.

There are a lot of things you should probably do before dropping the engine in such as replacing seals and gaskets etc.

but if you just want the engine in, you pretty much just have to drop it on the mounts, bolt it up and that’s it…

I did replace the turbo gaskets, I was just wondering if the hearter hosing has to be cut and fitted before it is dropped or anything else for that matter. Just dont wana drop it in and then more work, also not sure what can go from the engine bay before I drop it in…

Okay well I have dropped the engine in, hooked up heater hoses, taken out A/C stuff, done as much as I know but now i’m stuck with the finial hook ups. Chris is going to come back and finish the wiring and hook it all up so before he comes I want everything to be ready to fire basically. I also don’t know what to do about the rad fan, can I mount some sort of electric one? How do I wire that?

Do any of you guys have any time this week to come by for a bit to look over everything and maybe help me with the finial things like vacume lines and whatever else is left there? Shouldnt take that long, all the really hard stuff is pretty much complete.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Cheers,
Victor

Thanks Dude!

What kind of fan could I use? Any ideas?

that one marcus gave you, you should already have one of those in your car, the stanza came with a nice twin fan, as did the access multi (both nissan)

hey man looks good so far. what are you doing for intercooler and piping?

I actually got a deal on a used front mount with piping so I grabbed that, and hotpipe off of sasha (thanks dude). Today i’m going to try to at least start her up if i get the wiring all done. But the problem with my tranny is really bothering me, I hope its just the shifter not sitting right which is causing the probs. I’ll be in the shop today trying to get things done, if anyone wants to come by give me a call 416-666-1781. Thanks!

Well after finding out the tranny I had was totally messed up I got lucky and found one in Brantford so I rushed and got that, again spending money that I don’t have. What a nightmare this swap has been. I would like to get this done this week and make it to Niagara this coming weekend. Any ppl feel like lending a hand on the final stages? I don’t have that much left to do beside hooking up all the hoses ect. Chris still has to come finish the wiring but I hope he can do that soon. So if anyone is willing to lend a hand to help me complete this please let me know. THanks!

More detail, I may be able, to scheduale you in…

clutch line? brake/clutch pedal? Dash? Fuel pump? FMIC/piping? what?

EDIT: you have the ECU? is it in?

Wow I hope this car doesn’t turn out to be a freakin’ pile after you’re done
with it considering the problem you face here and there. :ugh:

Don’t rush dude. Take your time. Do it right the first (and last) time.
This coming from a guy who’s made the same mistake in the past.

If you miss Bing’s meet, who cares. There’s always next year. Not to
mention we will probablly try to have a year end meet sometimes in
fall (early winter ? :dunno: )

Yeha I know what you mean, but I need it running so I have transportation because I can’t get around. Plus i’m starting school soon so I need to get to Oakville everyday. Not to mention work so I can pay for all this crap lol.

Here is what is left to do…

  1. Finish wiring, (extend a few connections, and get the lower harness hooked up or whatever is left to do i.e auto swap wiring too. also rad fan)

  2. Install FMIC, i’ve got all the parts, i’m going to start on that tomorrow morning, should be done tomorrow.

  3. Install Walbro pump (if I can’t get around to it I can still start her with stock one for now then install walbro after)

  4. Hook up all vacume lines, and other hoses (normal connections, i’m just not sure where everything goes, coolant/fuel lines are allready done.)

  5. Install Gauges (not absolutly necessary but would be nice)

Thats about it i think. I had the new tranny put in yesterday, clutch from old one was like new so that was good. Clutch pedal, master cylinder, hard line, everything is hooked up and working, just have to cut down break pedal tomorrow.

Thanks!
