Looking for info on a cheap fuel cell setup

I have an older fuel injected car that has been sitting for a while that I want to get running again and make a small project out of. The car’s fuel lines and sending unit are rusted out. Instead of messing around with getting a new tank, lines, etc, I’m thinking about just throwing a ~10 gallon fuel cell in the trunk.

I don’t need anything special, just something that will work. How do the pumps mount on these, internal or external? Any recommendations on a cheap setup? Would I be ok running high pressure flex line? What else do I need to know?

It’s probably cheaper to find used OEM stuff.

The cell is the cheapest part, probably 100 bucks, then another 200 for the pump, 80 for an inline filter, then AN line adds up FAST…

I think I spent about 1000 dollars on my cell, pump, filter, and lines…

if you put a fuel cell in the trunk, you should weld in a sealed firewall behind the seats.

yeah braided flex line is fine under the car. you would run an external fuel pump from the rear lower outlet.

Yea, I would not have expected it to be that much. I’ll probably go with OE replacement; it looks like the sending unit is only like $70. I just figured it would have been easier to go with a cell, but it’s not wort it for that cost.
