welcome to the club… i’ve been looking for a year
Nice well I am hoping for something, maybe even an admin job ya know.
I work at Kennametal Inc. We have a couple hundred people in our various IT groups. Entry level would be Datacenter, then Helpdesk. Datacenter positions are hired thru Tek Systems temp agency. You have to go thru them for a couple months then get hired on as a Kennametal employee. I believe starting wage in the Datacenter is approx $14 an hour. You will be required to work shifts and weekends as we are 24 hour Global company. If you are interested… do it fast… before they hire more folks from India.
I’ve given up on finding an IT job. I looked for some time after I got of the Army, then went to school, and looked the entire time I was in school.
Good luck. Have you considered moving out of the state?
skillz?

SHHHHHHHH !!! You weren’t supposed to tell anyone…
Pewter taut me howl to spel
And i like the interweb, compoters are kool
Awww yeah…mad skillz.
My last 3 years in the Army were spent working on computers. We (my shop) rebuilt and upgraded about 25 computers a month over the course of 2 years. We supported over 300 users and about 250 desktops systems. Email accounts, network support, and other general sys admin duties were performed.
I have put my search for an IT job on hold, not out of discouragement, but because I have taken another job that could possibly lead to an IT job.
I still fix computers for friends and family and the periodic referral of a friend of a friend of a friend. Basic home networking, upgrades, and the dreaded “Come please fix my computer because I downloaded something and now my computer runs slower than a pack of turtles on ice.”
Kennametal…why does that place sound familiar?
I’m not sure about why it sounds familiar except it is a big company. We make carbide bits and such… probably for the army.
We have 14,000 PC users world wide and a huge network. IT jobs here are more defined in that you would only be doing (basically) one thing… PC Support or networking or …
We are located next to Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, Pa. That is our “Corporate Headquarters”… There are other facilities scattered across the Globe…
