I need a job too lol… I got a year of help desk/phone/cust service support but Im a picky fucker and Idont want to work weekends lol. Do the temp jobs have a really good chance of full time? I got a car payment and dont want to be dumped off after a year thats why I pass over temp jobs… The job I have now just doesnt pay enough for me right now and I need something better.

Pay might not be as good as some places, but the benefits are pretty good.

I have no connection to any of those jobs, so just apply from the web site.

Weekends are a must here… We are a Global Company and the helpdesk is 24 x 7 however… at this point… there is no hiring going on… They are only hiring in India.

oh well… guess Im probably better off going back to school lol.

yup…the IT bandwagon passed us by about 5 years ago! Theres no money in it from what I have found available. Go back to school while ur young and irresponsible for kids and wife and shit like that…this also means building up your tolerence level for alcohol…its a win win situation

there is still good money in IT, you just have to find the right place. I don’t make 100k/year but i don’t do bad for someone with no degree and outdated certs.

It would be much easier to get a job outside of Pittsburgh though.

keyword: available

I know people make descent money but they aren’t going anywhere and the only open jobs are web dev’s and help desk and I’m not interested in either :ugh2:

I went on 4 job interviews over the past 2 months for Network Administrator jobs. There are jobs out there.

coming out of school sucks. you won’t get a high paying job like they promised when you started, find somewhere with growth available, get in wherever you can, and move up.

i have interview proposals at least twice a week… there are jobs out there.

they just want people with experience and someone that isn’ta dumbshit slacker like most asshole kids that just got outta school.

also, i wouldn’t call kennametal’s network ‘huge’…

I guess the 39 jobs I posted aren’t good enough?

http://careers.pghtech.org/

I was going to post a reply about why Kennametal’s network is not 'huge" but I just decided that I’m sure your is bigger and let it drop. <- that was a pissing contect wasn’t it?

awww sheeit, I’m SOL then…3 yrs of slacking experience must not be enough.

Try this place… It’s a temp agency that Kennametal uses… It’s a good way to get some experience…
http://www.teksystems.com/default.asp?source=overture

they are jobs yes, but all software prog and web dev, not that thats bad but meh, boring.

Then you see stuff like this, one of the very few non software/web dev listings…

Full-Time Sr. Network Engineer
Robert J. DePaul & Associates, Inc. is looking for a very Senior Network Engineer that has a strong background with the following: Managing and Administrating all operating systems and their software, all Servers, Communications/Connection Solutions, Web site, intranet and intranet applications support experince, disaster recovery experince, Deploy and maintain firewalls, cryptography systems, and all host security activities, Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user desktops, Install and configure messaging and printer systems,Distribute and supervise server storage space allotments…

Not that Im complaining or being a little whiney bitch but damn…its like, holy shit, would you like foot massages added to that list? Sometimes i think i picked the wrong industry  And this is one of those times I think and really question the quality of service sacrificed for lower cost

That is 10 different departments (with more than one person in each) at Kennametal.
That is probably a really small company / office and their IT is one guy who runs it all.

:naughty:  :naughty:

Nobody can do it all unless you’re Whitey :cookie:

IT jobs suck… they demand you to be a jack of all trades as well as expect you to work 24x7 and not bitch… sometimes i get angry but most of the time I love it

I was hired on to do backups… now i do backups, and windows. so i doubled my job and my time at work… oh well my resume is money
