actually playing around with the interactive ring designer on bluenile.com. it’s a very flexible way to adjust something into your price range too. dare i say…fun, as well
I wonder how the op is doing. I haven’t seen him post much lately.
Isn’t he the dude going through chemo?
^Yes, hopefully it’s going well.
Bought my engagement ring from the Jewelry Exchange (that place that runs commercials on MSNBC late night). They are a chain of stores nationwide. They did a real nice job, sent me a certified diamond that I picked out in a nice setting. Price was very good compared to local, plus I paid no tax. They have some guarantee that anything they sell appraises for double what you paid, they were right, I had it looked at by two shops.
I had a crappy experience with Andrews. They had the ring I really wanted so I got it but the after sale was crap. Took a week to assemble, then took 9.5 hours to size it and they sized it a size too big. When the fiancee picked it up she was almost in tears because it was so big she couldn’t wear it to her parents house to show everyone. They threw a spacer thing on it and told us we had to wait a week to bring it back. Guess where we’re not getting wedding bands from?
My family and I own Ray Crinzi Jewelers. We specialize in engagement rings and custom orders. If any of you need anything, feel free to stop by. The address is 1 Buffalo street in Hamburg.
I ended up going the bluenile route
I was looking for a solitaire ring so I went to Diamonds Direct to pick out a setting and was able to choose from many different stones.
i built a ring on blue nile, took it in to my local shop and saved big time, the diamond through blue nile was 6500 and i got the setting and a better diamond (spec wise) for about 2000 less total
I strongly considered blue nile until a local jeweler beat the price and cut me a 20% discount on the Tacori setting I wanted.
Thanks for the check-up guys.
I am doing well and I am almost done with treatment. My body and soars are starting to recover and I am slowly enjoying life again! My wife and I re-scheduled our honeymoon to Jamaica for November and we are going to Aruba in February. My whole output on life has changed and I believe surviving cancer has made me a better and “new” person. However, I am not considered cancer free until 5 years from be cured. I will continue to be monitored monthly.
Awesome dude! Fuck cancer.
on a side note, My aunt and uncle go to Aruba every year and they absolutely love it. Should be a fun time.
really. i had an awesome experience with them, sales staff was amazing(beer was delicious), found a ring that the wife loved bought it they held it in their safe until i had the cash for the right diamond, when i finally picked out the diamond i think i waited 2 or 3 days to assemble which i didnt think was bad, luckily resizing wasn’t needed…but whenever the wife wants it cleaned or re plated no if issues at all…has a matching band and i got my CF/Titanium band there as well.
Glad to see OP is doing well…Good luck to you and the wife
Good to hear dude!!!
