LSD, exactly what does it do

I’m planning to install an LSD to my Nissan 240sx next year. I was told recently that a 1991 Nissan 240sx comes with a VLSD, but see I don’t really know the difference between the two.

Terms that I have heard about Limited Slip Differential are
-Helical LSD
-Viscous LSD (which I was told came with my 240)
-Clutch-Type LSD

Which is the right LSD to use? what does it look like? What does it really do?

I’ve done my research on LSD but i guess I have to hear it from people who have used it and knows its actual capabilities

You could get a much better definition by using google and searching. There are plenty of sites that will explain them in nice detail.
