Im only a few hours in, and I gotta say Im not all that impressed so far. I haven’t been into madden in a few years but I remember being able to pick it up and play without a hitch. Not this game.
The learning curve seems kinda steep. There are a TON of pre-snap options which you have to get in real quick before the computer snaps the ball. After the snap you better hope its not a run, cause thats usually a 5 yard min. gain.
The play selection menu sucks. Most of the screen is the camera panning the stadium your in. I’d rather see a larger playbook (might be a option I didn’t find?)
The animations and different hits are pretty cool. Big backs flatten little corners with the truck stick. And you can lay out people with the hit stick.
Watch if you “ask madden” for your play. Sometimes it just keeps picking the same one. Might be a glitch…
Haven’t played the new one yet, but I think if you had been playing Madden for the last few years, it wouldn’t be so overwhelming with all of the pre snap options. I usually buy it every year except last year but they have been adding more and more options every year, so if you buy it annually, then you would just be learning like one or two options a year, but now you haven’t played it for a while so you have to learn them all.
Like I said, I haven’t played it yet, but the graphics engine looks similar if not identical to last year and from what I read online, there aren’t a ton more features. If I get a 360 from the wife for christmas I will definitely pick up madden (after forza and call of duty, of course).
I started a season with a custom no name team, last year it wasn’t there but now the option is back. I’m playing on pro now, and keep nearly gettin beat. For those who know about the heartbeat situations at the end of 4th with less than 20 sec on the clock. Gotta up my game, last years madden on 360 was too easy i guess. OH, and the cut blocks are awesome. Reciever went up in double coverage, I made one guy hit stick low, and the other hit sticked high. Needless to say, season ending injury!
Ah ah ahhh, not correct:nono:. EA had no intents on buying the rights. They were fine with 2K being the competition. The NFL on the other hand, wanted just one video game company to represent them. So, they only offered to EA because the 2K sales weren’t as high as the Madden franchise:owned:. And well, they have one of the greatest coaches in history (not THE greatest:steelers:) as their title. Now if you were money hungry and two people were representing you and you had to give one the shaft to make an ass load more than you were before, who would you pick?
Madden is too in-depth now. It’s not fun anymore because if you don’t have a good working knowledge of football you’re gonna have a harder time… Who needs all the goofy pre-snap shit?? I like the OG process, X to snap, X to bring up receievers and throw to R1, L1, Square, X, or Circle.
it sucks for PS3. it only plays at 30 frames per second. for the 360, it plays at 60 frames per second. its too choppy and slow. i just played an online game and only got 4 possessions the whole game. and all that weapon shit just confuses the hell outta me.
