Haven’t played the new one yet, but I think if you had been playing Madden for the last few years, it wouldn’t be so overwhelming with all of the pre snap options. I usually buy it every year except last year but they have been adding more and more options every year, so if you buy it annually, then you would just be learning like one or two options a year, but now you haven’t played it for a while so you have to learn them all.
Like I said, I haven’t played it yet, but the graphics engine looks similar if not identical to last year and from what I read online, there aren’t a ton more features. If I get a 360 from the wife for christmas 
I will definitely pick up madden (after forza and call of duty, of course).
