Avoid the cross drilled rotors if you’re going to use your brakes hard consistently. The cross drilling weakens the structure of the rotor and can cause it to crack/break. Slotted rotors don’t have this problem.
Of course, it depends on what you’re going to use the car for…if you’re tracking/autox you’ll want slotted, if you show/drag/cruise then it probably doesn’t matter.
Well, slotted < drilled for cool factor, and if you’ll just be driving around normally then you might as well go with the KVR’s, a LOT of tuners use their stuff.
I’ve heard a few stories of the crossdrilled cracking just under street driving. And you can’t tell me you won’t be pounding on the brakes a few times.
I’ve been running KVR x-drilled front and back for probably 2 years now with no problems in terms of cracking/ breaking… I do the occassional auto-X, but mostly street. and i pound on them pretty hard.
what i would not recommend would be kvr pads, as they are kinda loud, and do not sit too tightly on the rear…
as stated above, cross drill rotors aren’t that great. With our weather conditions during the winter they love to crack. I have brembo slotteds and they work awsome. paid an arm and a leg for them ($650) but its one of my best upgrades. but ya stick to slotteds.
