I drive a ka24de with about 210 km. What are some things that I should replace in the near future to ensure it keeps running strong? The engine is stock except a walbro 255 fuel pump and a z32 fuel filter.
Should I replace the oil pump/water pump/ps pump?
Whats the highest km you have seen these engines go?
Should I replace the radiator?
Any problem areas on the ka24de that shoudl be adressed?
5w30 or 10w30?
My ka had 280xxx km when i sold it and still ran strong, i wouldnt replace any parts on the ka…just run it into the ground and swap either a ca or sr into your car the ka doesnt have anywhere near the potential of those motors, make sure you do this before you pump to much money into the ka though.
This might sound simple, but check your thermostat.
All you have to do is take it off the car and boil it in a pot. If it opens, you can put it back in. If not it should be replaced. Your thermostat can kill your motor if it isn’t working properly because it can prevent coolant from making it to the rad.
Change all the fluids, including the diff, if you haven’t already.
My car had 250,*** on it when I bought it. The thing purred like a kitten when I bought it and the only work the engine needed was a timing chain adjustment and new gaskets. Then it purred like a kitten on double cream.
how often do you have to change the diff fluid? how do you check if the lsd is still good?
i’m not really planning on swapping a ca or sr,i would like to just keep the ka as long as possible,i jusst need to know what to replace as i need this car to be reliable for road trips
I’ve heard that the diff fluid should be changed every second transmission flush - about every 60K or so. Maybe someone who knows better can give you a better idea.
Easiest way to figure out if your LSD is working is to spray some water on the ground outside your house, and do a brakestand. Of course, you’ll need someone to check if both wheels are turning. Not the most scientific way, but it works.
My recomendations if you have never really done any maintenance.
-Fuel Filter (Z32)
-O2 Sensor (Get a genuine Nissan or NTK)
-Coolant Temp. Sensor
-Change Diff fluid to 80W90 Synthetic (Brand of your choice)
-Change Trans fluid (Redline MT90 MUST BE GL-4)
-Mobil 1 10W30 and Genuine Nissan oil filter (Every 4-5000 KM)
-Clean out the MAF sensor W/Spray carb cleaner
-Clean throttle body w/Carb cleaner
-Change PCV valve (PITA to do and is always overlooked)
-Put in a good Fuel Injector cleaner every 4000 km or so
