thank you for your anachronous and utterly fvcking pointless post.
What the hell kinda person posts in a thread 2 years later to make a short dumb remark?
whoa wut the fuk this thread was posted 2 years ago ? sumone sent it 2 me and i thought it was current
hey i have an auto for now… whats this ‘free mod’… the link is broken cmon… lol…
hmm what is this mod? the link is dead…i’m possibly grabbing an s14 auto…this could prove useful until i have all the parts/money to do a conversion lol
yea i want to see too, fix her up mr200
eh…found a 5spd s14…dont need this anymore lol
pls reopen the link. wats this free mod for an auto?
id love to see this fix… but its never gonna be reopend…
You disconnect the module that control the Auto tranny fluid.
When you disconnect this module - the fluid is pushed through at full pressure.
You know when your auto tran changes gears, it’s soft and smooth. When you disconnect the module, each shift will fit much more violent - much like a jerk during each shift.
As far as I’ve read/heard, this doesn’t hurt your car besides wear and tear from the violent jerks (but even this damage is very very minimal). When I tried it, my Check Engine Light came on. When I plugged the module back, the CEL light went away on the following day.
lol how the hell did this get dug up?
nice try sweetie but its was a valve body modification, basically its was drilling otu a few holes to raise pressure causieng it to shift at different times , without disconnecting the control unit and causing the stock ecu to go into null mode , but thanks for coming out
If this is what I think it is - upping the line pressure - then it isn’t very good for your transmission. You’d be better off finding an actual shift kit for it. I imagine that these transmissions aren’t too expensive, so if blowing one doesn’t matter, go ahead.
Thanks for the correction. I read an auto tranny mod article about a year ago that referenced the modification I was talking about. I suppose I got them confused.
gts- no problem dude ,
and mr.k , whats the difference if u do the shift kit your self or u pay a company to do the same thing, give u a pre modified one and pay like 500bucks?
There are a few different kinds of shift kits. I’m speaking from my experience with F-bodies, but most of this stuff should carry over.
There are 2 different kinds of shift kits that I’ve seen:
-1 is a simple line pressure booster that can be had for about $45-50. This runs a switch into your interior that you can change to set how firm you want the shifts to be. These are pretty effective for truck/towing usage. These up line pressure.
-2 is an actual shift kit, and it has a bunch of springs and different stuff that you actually have to install inside of the transmission. These extend the life of the transmission under heavy use and can make the shifts pretty brutal. if you’re pumping out a bunch of horsepower you’re going to need to upgrade the transmission itself still, but this helps improve the shifts quite a bit for some serious 1-2 shifts.

Neither one of these cost $500.
well la de da, i stand corrected LOL
well i guess i am right MR.k , how bout u find me an actual shift kit for a 240sx , for under $500 http://www.importperformancetrans.com/nissanauto.shtml, weird , imagine that nissan stuff costing more than GM stuff , whowoulddathunkit ?
From what you posted, there are 2 possible things you’re talking about, and neither are a shift kit.
1- Rebuild kits. These range from $470-$550, and include parts from a total transmission rebuild (gaskets, seals, clutch packs, etc). These are eventually what you would have to go with if you’re building high power and using it frequently.
2- A valve body service for $575. Let me quote directly:
The fact is that there are no hi performance shift kits for most Nissan transmissions! However, we are able to modify your existing valve body for high performance operation.
This is a valve body modification, which is why it costs so much. Someone is working on it at the tune of $50-100/hour which makes the price high.
I’m going to hunt around a little and see if I can find an actual shift kit, but if you want a quick 240sx with an auto, perhaps its time for a V8 swap :hsugh: . I’m not sure how much abuse the Nissan autos can take. I imagine if you sunk some money into them they wouldn’t have any problem. Just get a cooler and a high stall converter.
