What I did was build a track of wood on the roof and I used heavy plastic for covering insoulation for homes for the walls and stapled that to 1"x2" x10’ pieces of wood and screwed it to the track I built. I also have another 1"x2"x10’ piece of wood on the bottom so that it draped the plastic down good and so I can tape that to the ground before I paint. That way you can also just roll it up when your done and hang it on a couple hooks like I have here. So whenever I need to paint a car good in the garage I just have to pull dovn the booth and tape up the edges and put my fan in the door and I use furnace filters on the plastic on the wall. I am thinking that I will need a fan on the roof to to keep the air flowing but we will see. Pretty easy and cheap to make for the do it your self painter

thats so cool my friend had one in his garage the fan was built into the side of the wall but the dumbass moved out before we could even use it

Ya my fan is pretty much on the side too built in to the side door. I had a set up similer to this in my old garage and it worked pretty good. Everything has to be taped tight though if you dont want oversprey on everything. I will post a couple more pictures when i got the filters and fan in and everything good to go to give you guys a better idea.
P.S. free poly is good. I spent $40 for 10’x100’ and its plenty!
No offense but why not just rent a booth @ desro’s, it’s around $10 an hour and it’s a professional booth.
To paint my whole car including gun,tape and paper and booth rental was $101.
I don’t think they have a hose long enough to stretch to Lethbridge, dude.

Moving this to installs, although this technically isn’t an installation, but you know why. lol.
we can rent booths here for $150 pr day and some sketchey guy paints it. I have my own guns and I paint more than just my cars so its just worth it to me this way so I can just set up whenever and not worrie about getting the car out at the end of the day .
i think its a sweet idea, I have been thinking about painting my own car after the body work is done. I am just afraid a runs.

I posted a couple more pics up at the top of the filter and fan. I just used it tonight to paint my silvia and it worked awsome. When I turn the fan on the poly suckes in and puts the paint fumes out the fan pretty good. If you want to see pics of finished painting just go to my other thread on “painting engine bay” Hope u like
