Or it would have been a bloodbath, but sure, yeah I’m sure some soccer mom would have taken a kid down with her glock. Can’t drive right and responsibly but would have been on point here :rofl
Edit: cause there is NO WAY a suicidal guy would have gotten ~10 shots off (correct me if there is an accurate figure) within 15 seconds or so if others had guns.
This is even a more ridiculous argument to use here than the original Colorado.
You honestly think a guy with an AR can’t kill 2 or 3 people within a few seconds?
Heard on the news last night that the guy had used a stolen gun. But your point still stands that they hadn’t gone to the black market. But you know who does? Gangs. I’m willing to bet that there are a lot more gang members in this country than there are crazies that want to kill themselves or seek revenge on society by going on a murdering spree.
As bad as it is, casualties have to be assumed when events like that take place. What I am trying to say is, if 10 people around him were carrying, it takes them a second or so to understand what’s happening, find the guy shooting, reach, upholster, cock and return fire. By that time the gunman could pop off a bunch of rounds, probably hitting targets.
Self defense is never going to be an all or nothing success or fail by definition. What it will do is help keep the guy from just dropping empty clips, reloading and getting off a box of ammo at helpless people. If people are armed with a weapon, and a law, it can only help.
And the point of missing your target if you are legally carrying. Keep it simple again. Make the test a test, not a paperwork lesson and a hook up from a judge to allow you to carry on your person. Form the laws to give someone with the skill and correct mentality to carry out safe self defense tactics the ability to do so. If you miss and take someone else out, you face charges. It’s your decision when shit hits the fan. If you have a weapon, and the situation is too hard for you to defend yourself and others safely, don’t fire. If it’s a risk you are willing to take, fire. simple as that.
I am usually a very open minded person when it comes to living on the edge, live every day like its your last, and accepting the fact that something unfortunate could happen and you might not be here the next day.
But the way these things are happening more and more, and the downward spiral alot of things seem to be going lately, makes me nervous. Like if my wife, my family, and even my close friends were taken from me from gross negligence or an act like these… I probably would be seen on the news the next day too because if that motherfucker was still alive I would hunt their ass down.
Really makes me not want to have children. I couldn’t stand to bare the loss of someone I brought into this world.
Current laws yes for the most part. In my opinion some of the provisions in the awd are just silly and do nothing but impose on law abiding citizens while reducing tax revenue that is sorely needed.
What kind of sick fuck goes after kids. Said it was k-4th grade. This shit scares the fuck out of me, I have a 7 year old in school right now. Granted im in a podunk town, its still scary, horrible for these parents. Im tearing up just thinking about it, no idea what I would do if something happened to my daughter. Cannot believe what these families have to go through.
Ryan I am in your boat too man. I am boiling reading about it, and everyone here at work is furious too.
Wife and I are talking children next year, probably one of the scariest decissisons I will make. And I have done some DUMMMMB shit on bikes, skiis, sleds, atv’s, etc. LOL It would be an easier decission to try ans jump a dirtbike across the hudson river, than raise a child right now. no lie.
godbless you man, keep you and your family safe.:hug
(Reuters) - A gunman who barricaded himself inside a townhouse after killing three people in the home was shot to death by police on Saturday in Aurora, Colorado
If the weapons everywhere werent sold out yet, they will be now.
