Map of highest paid public employees by state and their profession.

Interesting if nothing else. :ponder

Edit: Last I knew, Dr Kaloyeros of Albany Nano Tech was the highest paid employee in NY.

interesting and sad. Don’t believe it however

Sadly, I do believe it. I know down south, big college football coaches get paid well over $1M/year.

Keep in mind that I’m assuming these figures are strictly salaries, not including grants, endorsements/sponsors, bonuses, etc…

John Calipari and Nick Saban both make in the $5-5.3M range, so it’s not surprising at all. College sports are a multi-billion dollar industry, it only makes sense that the driving forces behind them would be highly compensated.

5.5 million to sit on the sidelines, yell and draw X’s and O’s…

Sign me up

Well I have been considering moving to New Hampshire and I think this just solidified things a little bit more

I just want to make a comfortable wage where I can afford things and be happy and know I have a job. That’s all.

So what you’re saying is you’re not the president of UVM?

i completely mis-read the title i thought it was just highest paid. yea this is completely beleavable and still sad.

Exactly.

Their new $27M Dudley Davis Center is quite nice. I’ll sweep the floors for $50K a year.

You’d have to pay me 50k a year to clean up after dirty hippies and hipsters.

Sickening

am I the only one elated that a hockey coach made the map?

No… im pumped about it too

lol, yea. Didn’t expect that.

wwf wrestling pays good too. jersey shoe and 16 and prego pays good too. weird to me.

i wonder why media makes so much money?

maybe people are addicted??

to me it doesnt make sense that the president gets $400k while a college football coach signs a contract for $5million/year. i understand the president gets a bunch of extras. but comon.

The highest paid NYS public employee is not a med school department chair…it is Alain Kalayeros who runs the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at UAlbany…who happens to drive a smoking hot Ferrari. Guess since he’s brought in billions of dollars to the campus he deserves all the cash he gets.

I don’t think they count his grant money and what he gets paid as a stipen. Seems like think they count his 800k+ that the state pays him, in which makes him not the top earner. SUNY downstate chair gets paid more from nys, 1.06 mill in '12.
