What field are you in?
I’m a Marketing Director for a Healthcare consulting and software firm.
B2B service based firm. I primarily develop lead generation strategies for the company. We handle hospital’s chargemaster and regulatory needs. We also do a bit of medical billing consultation.
My friend just graduated from Clarion with a Bachelor’s in Marketing. Whats the job market like for that?
Well, most colleges and universities teach you that marketing is advertising. Good luck on getting a job with that approach. You need to prove to CEO’s HOW a marketing STRATEGY applies to their firm and then go from there. Tell him to attend some seminars or have him PM me for some local events that will catch him up to speed in the Pgh area.

I’m Marketing Coordinator for a company that primarily deals in the service industry so I do a lot of lead generation, company awareness, with a big focus on ROI because we aren’t real real big. Kind of handicaps me, but hopefully I’ll be able to move on to an MBA in the near future and move on to something in a mid to large sized company.
