45>fist fight
 it’s people like u that i would laugh at,other’s just kick thier ass…guns are for nothing but the absolute last solution
I took karate when I was younger. If your serious about it, any form of fighting is awesome for a hobby. I, of course, got lazy, but would love to get back into it. It’s great self discipline and exercise as well.
I have never been in a fist fight, fighting is for retards who are too stupid to talk their way out of one.
The only way I would fight someone was if they are doing something to my family and in that case, I would be going for a kill - so yea, 45>fist fight.
first thing if you take any style of Karate it based on DEFENSE thats the first thing in theory they teach, Offensive means your looking for a fight, Your best offense is defense let any known boxer, fighter, martial artest that has vaild experince tell you.
I took shodokan(holds, ground fighting, throws, and most of weapons training), japanese hard style one of the last traditional martial arts.
4th degree black belt with a slew of training, and I have taking kick boxing for 6 years, along with jujitsu, and capuwayda(brazilian martial arts). All martrial arts are based on 1 key principal, " self (DEFENSE)".
fighting means nothing, no need unless ur, or family’s life is in danger.Should use words,
I wanted to leanr capuwayda. But how effective is it really? It just looks good that’s why I wanted to take it.
You have to be very flexible, and not fear hitting the ground while flipping, or twisting, there is tons of control involved, very acrobaticable
that art is basically useless
seeing as u nothing about it I guess it would be to you!
:hsugh:
My training is in TKD, Aikido, and ground fighting/grappling. All forms of martial arts have their pros and cons. I orefer the more traditional martial arts, where the emphasis is on discipline and self determination, with the fighting aspect being a by- product. I found as my oldest son advanced in the art, he was less and less prone to getting into fights in school(he was a real problem in Elementary/middle school). He earned his black belt at 16, and was only involved in one fight in HS, and that was coming to the defense of a female friend. The poor schmuck who charged at him in the hall never knew what hit him :owned:
But anyway, if you approach the MA’s with humility, and work your ass off, any of them will be good for you, and any of them can be deadly…
I used to do boxing and martial arts a few years ago. I started out doing kickboxing, then just boxing. I also did something called kouchi kali kar, although I’m not sure if I am spelling it right and I can’t find anything about it online. I didn’t do that for very long though, so I really don’t know much about it. I went to Rimsek’s in Donora, they moved to Monesson now though. The owner, Ryan Rimsek, was sent to Iraq. I think the other instructor is running the place while he is away. Some of the golden gloves champs have trained there.
tottaly understandabl, when u learn these arts no matter which ones u learn self discipline and learn to hold back form ur aggression and wanting to throw a punch, all my buddys who are in this, even the 6th degree are gentle giants compared to what they used to be b4 the training and i know it is from the self discipline partt of it.
Exactly. Once you are aware of your abilities, and your capacity to do great damage, you tend to walk away from more situations that you otherwise would have. OTOH, if you get backed into a corner, all bets are off. One young lady in our system was attacked in a downtown parking garage, and she successfully fought off the attacker, who was brandishing a knife. He was almost a foot taller than her, and out weighed her by over 130#. He ran away!
I do Taekwondo right now with Pitt’s team. We compete in the North Eastern Ivy league, so we fight against schools like Brown and UPenn and Cornell. I’ve been competing for about 3 years now and really enjoy kicking people around.
However you need to be well rounded. So I started with Judo back in September. I wrestled in high school, so I’ve adapted well. No competitions in judo yet, but hopefully once I get back into the swing of things.
But TKD is a lot of fun.
it is up to what you want to do in the sense of: fun , exercise, defense or just to learn.
i have used to taken wushu back in my high school and prep school days and like it alot. much like karate. also took tai chi as for defensive strategy but also to be more controlled in all aspects of daily life. just have fun in what ever you choose.
