I am PRETTY productive too. I don’t go out of my way to find work though. I do what I have to. I just do it quickly so that I can fuck around here longer.
I have seen some unproductive ppl, trust me on that one

I’ve seen people that work non-stop while at work and are still unproductive.
Like I said you wouldn’t understand unless you have seen it…
Go find a DoD contractor and ask them about govies and see what they say…
Same, I have tons of time I just idle around…but when I have a job to get done I do it quickly and correctly the first time.
It’s also extremely costly to live there.
Fairfax County I always hear is 1 or 2 for richest counties in the US. Makes sense given a shitty ass condo runs 250k to buy.
Oh the commute is terrible. I have been traveling into downtown DC all week and I leave at 7am and still don’t get there til almost 9am and it is only like 11 miles. It sucks. I love my normal commute of 5 miles away from DC that takes about 3 minutes lol.
The recession/housing burst didn’t really hit this area at all.
No big surprise here…
Depends on the area. In much of outer VA it dropped quite well. Downtown DC is pretty exclusive and if the rich don’t sell then prices won’t budge much. Supply and demand at work. Rich are generally well insulated from NEEDING to sell unlike the working class stiffs going through foreclosure. Many people, unlike the rich took arm and interest only loans putting themselves FAR too leveraged. I know this from direct connections…not 3rd party.
The traffic all around DC is just disgusting. That’s part of why closer to DC is holding up well. That many people…housing is still needed. And add to that the promise of go’ment jobs increasing, many of whom would be working in DC.
Mean income of government employees = 129,000
Mean income of private sector = 69,000
I need to say no more.
