I got my offer letter and I’m moving to DC! Let me tell you this can’t come soon enough. I will be making more money and since rent is about the same (or less from my findings) I will be traveling to Pitt more often!
Well good luck but from what I know of DC, most people have to live up to an hour away and commute into work, cost of living is an arm and a leg… just warning you
^ I live on the gold coast now and have done my research on the cost of living. B/c I’m currently living on the beach it’s about the same. I’m going to live in Silver Spring which is 4 stops away from work on the metro.
If I were moving to a place that cost more, I doubt I would do it, but thanks for the heads up.
I’m just giving a heads up, I know alot of people that live in DC asshole, first off I know people that work at the Pentagon and I have a guy at Base that works in D.C. They both live in maryland and have to commute an hour to work, I’m just giving a heads up that more then likely people commute into D.C. cause living in D.C. costs a shit load of money, plus the area of Arlington VA, in which I know people that live there too, the cost of living is an arm and a leg. These are the facts, and I was giving a heads up, now seeing that she lives on the beach of connecticut she can most likely afford the cost, I’m just saying compaired to this area cost are expensive. Look up the costs of a house or apartment in the D.C. area and get back to me, thank you and have a nice day! :finger2:
Comparably to CT where she is living tho, DC is a little less or the same…Living in Pgh is CHEAP! I lived out in Los Angeles, and having lived out there, DC is lower…it’s all relative to where you have lived by comparison. You can find some nice places round the DC area that are not THAT expensive, esp if you are willking to take the metro!
I grew up in Richmond Raylene ( 1 1/2 hour drive south of DC depending upon traffic), you will enjoy living in DC I think (milder winters too lol). Silver Spring is nice!!! One thing for sure, there is always something to do there…
Glad to hear things worked out for the best! Congrats!
