Masonry Question

Any idea what a chimney repoint costs?

Any ideas what questions to ask to determine if it’s a good contractor?

Q. Are you a beaner?
I recommend No as the answer

I just helped my dad repoint his chimney, it was very easy just time consuming.

I had the top 3 layers of brick repointed on the front and 1 side of my house for about $250. I can ask my wife the name of the contractor that did it tonight when I get home.

Beans, no.

Coal and wood, yes.

What are you answering “no” to?

I just had my front porch / chimney / foundation sections repointed…all for $1200 by Comarco Masonry for an idea of what it’ll take. This was just to repair some minor step-cracking, no other damage.

I have done many repointings on chimneys, PM me and ill try to help ya out. Any bricks need ripped out and replaced?

What area of town? I had a family run business come out to my house in brentwood. Tore down two chimneys and rebuilt one of them with a new flue liner. Also rebuilt the firebox and surround with new brick, new damper, etc. for about $4200 I think.

If you want his name / contact info, message me on here and I’ll get it for you tonight. If it really just needs pointed though, depending on the height of the house and the roofing material (slate, asphalt, clay) you will probably be under $500

500!!! holey rip off man!
