Just want to let everyone know how amazing the May 14th event was! Jover did an amazing job as both a drifter and an organizer, and the track time was worth its weight in gold.
There are really so many talented drivers out there, and more events like this will no doubt bring mags, automotive body shops, etc. in as spectators, and as time passes they will eventually be sponsors, so keeping up practice is extremely essential.
For those who were there, I hit the wall pretty hard on the front straight, and the thing I regret most is that my buddies didn’t catch it on tape! In fact, they didn’t even roll the camera once, so I’m dying to see some footage; stills or video of the event.
Anyone that has anything, please let me know!
DET Driftworks will have this car running again and back to the way you all saw it in three weeks!
“If you want to learn how to drift, you’ve got to learn how to hit the wall”
Mike, it was great to have you out there. Your car is just insane… too bad you won’t be able to come to montreal next saturday, but I guess these things happen.
If you ever want to practice before some event, hit me up via PM and I’ll join you for some tandem action.
GUYS, please post the pics you took from the event?!
Mike man, sorry about your car! Glad to hear it’ll be back out soon!
Pavel, you’re getting really good, and you’re really pushing it to the limit, I was tres impressed! Must have seen you hit the dirt half a dozen times and you just kept getting out there and pushing it even harder, which was great to see! I look forward to seeing you at more events in the future.
Jover had a nice little interview with the crew from Speedvision and Tuner Transformation, which got us all really excited about further advancing the sport in our area and public awareness of Driftstar. I saw them filming pretty much everyone out there, so expect to see yourselves on TV some time soon.
All in all everything went really smoothly, and at a couple points the event just sort of ran itself, which was really great. There was a lot of professionalism from the more experienced guys on the track: waiting for more space inbetween drivers, letting people in out of the pits, being courteous and helpful to people who had spun out or need repairs; all-in-all I think we were all very pleased with the performance of the drivers, spectators and crew. Everyone did really well… thanks guys!
Good job Jover. We need more events like this. Good organization = more time on the track which is what we got at this event. I had so much fun even though my car kept over heating and the clutch basically finished itself off. Go to see lots of people going balls deep with what they have aswell.
PS
Those tuner transformation ‘escorts’ were hot. We need more of that at these events. Drifting and slu… i mean nice upstanding young women. Cant get much better than that. Except maybe with pie…
My car was rubbing like a hero and I ruined one of my fenders from all the rubbing but other than that shes good as new
oh and i totally ruined the wiring harness in the fender well so my signal lights stay on all the time  Gonna have to fix that bad boy up this week
Greeting to all, my name is Pat, Mika’s teamate/mechanic.
Let me start by thanking everyone who helped us out after the crash: towing in, and getting it up on the trailer. I also want to apologize to everyone for acting like an A$$, but frustration took the better of me. I figured if I’m going to fix the car the least I can get is the satisfaction of ripping off the fender!! :x
You guys have a great club and good people, and some very promising drifters. If there is anything I can help with, don’t hesitate to contact me.
lol I still hurt Mike
