alright this might be shocking to some but i used to be in really good shape and really strong, adam what in the fuck are you doing to be shrugging 510, i wanna see this myself cuz i used to work out with tony d and at my best i could do 315 clean 10 times with a 3 second pause at the top, and will someone join golds in clifton park i need a lifting partner

Why do you guys mess around loading 100’s of pounds onto a barbell to do shrugs when you can just use dumbells?

Thats what I was thinking. I used to just pick up a heavy set I saw and do some reps, I know I never went over 100lbs per hand thou.

When I am on my diet, heres my gig:
7 am: Cream or Rice with lotsa splenda. shits like babyfood, but good with blueberrys or a few sliced strawberrys. This gives me the carbs for the a.m. . I also have a 40 gm shake, but low low carb shake.
9 am: Low Carb 40gm Nitro-tech bar
11-12pm:, baked potato, greens, 6 oz chicken last carbs of the day
2-3pm: green vege/bar/egg, something different
5-6pm: 6-8 oz chicken, greens, followed 2 bours later with a shake if I didnt have one around 2 pm

This was to become lean and not build much in the way of bulk / I went from 36 waist to 31 aand lost 30 lbs in 4.5-5 months of 3 workouts a week. Of course there were some food substitutes like seafood or something lean, but the biggest thing was:
No Sugar. NOne, Not Asptertine either. Yes to spleda or splenda sweeted items (low car).

I went off the strict diet 4 months ago , though I dont pig out now, I’ll eat wings and pizza and burgers 2-3 times a week, and otherwise kee a very healthy diet I kept working out and put back 10 of the 30 lbs in those 4 months.

if i could put on 30 pounds in 4 motnhs i would be so happy haha

Anytime I mention protein powder, it’s a basic whey protein that’s somewhere around 115 calories and 20-25g of protein per serving. No weight gainers, etc.

And, contrary to popular belief, all whey protein is basically the same (AGAIN, basic whey). No science out there proving that a isolate is better, etc. Just find one that you like the taste of (again, BASIC whey) and stick with it.

pre workout-2 scoops whey with 1-2 large apples

during workout-BCAA powder(20% of lean weight in grams) for example if ur 200lbs and u have 20% body fat, then take in 32 grams. can be split pre and post instead of during but i like to take them during.

post workout-2 scoops whey isolate with 35-70 grams of pure dextrose or post workout formula powder which consist of most of the time BCAA’s, creatine, dextrose and like L-Glutamine

reason for the POST WORKOUT is… when u are finished working out u are in a catobolic state. in order to combat being catobolic and become anabolic, u take in a lot of sugar and pro. the sugar intake releases insulin and that shuttles nutrients into the muscles (proteine creatine ect ect)

any kind of BCAA better than others?

well… BCAA’s in there pure state are bitter and nasty. so for newbs like u, i would sugest going to DPS nutrition and searching for Xtreme ice. its a flavor burst of pure gains. hahaha

but u pay for that sweet flavor burst. if u want to go cheap and nasty and think u can man up, Bulk nutrition is the only way to go.

I can take it. I’ve had some nasty shit in the past and never complained… it’s suppose to work, taste is secondary. I’m way past paying for the flashy container and great taste.
