megan manifold vs dcsports

Hey guys,

I’m in the market for a new exhaust manifold and would like the opinions of son users. What would be a better buy, taking into consideration quality, performance and value. Current pricing is 220cdn for the megan and 450usd for the dcsports. If anyone has experience with either, that would be great also.

Thought I saw the DC for around $380 US, I don’t know if I’d buy eithor.

where is the DC sport one made?

there is a good chance they are the exact same piece.

Heard the DC on is made in the US, they also look totally different.

yeah you’re right, i just looked at the pic i took of it.

DC is good stuff isnt it?

i’ve never been in the market for it.

DC sport is made in house in california along with all AEM stuff.
they employ 200 people that make all their stuff by hand in their warehouse and shop. i was at a DC/AEM seminar and they explained how the company worked. It’s a nice piece, maybe not worth double what a megan is but its still very nice.

is there any info on the gauge of the steel used for the runners?

I have the megan piece and so far no problems. Although i have herd of people saying that they dont last to long. I am going on about 6000kms with no probs.
cheers
Sean

According to the above post on freshalloy, the thickness of the runners is 1.65mm using 304ss. I have no way to confirm this but according to this enthaply guy it’s going to be another “cracktacular piece”. hmmm…makes me really think about keeping stock exhaust mani.

full-race?

the cracktacularness of the manifold has alot to do with install.

if you were to get one of the off shore copies (megan, or from myself) you could get it ceramic coated and then have it installed well.

by well i mean have the weight of the turbo and the cat-forward exhuast supported by something other than the manifold and use all brackets supplied as well.

it may also make sense to have fresh mounts, or fill your stock ones with urethane so that the engine moves less.

a properly installed manifold shouldnt brake anytime soon.
