Since I feel like blasting people tonight, heres my 2 cents on the Joey vs Code Blue thing,
Code Blue should’ve looked the car over better. But his ignorance is excusable because he thought he was buying something from a friend. I’ve been in the same situation except I didn’t buy from a friend. I should’ve looked the car over better myself. I’m sure I have alot more experience with used cars, and even experienced people can and do make mistakes. This shouldn’t be the issue.
The fact is that Joey heard Code Blue was looking to trade for an Accord and decided it would be a good time to offload a POS headache vehicle while he had the chance. Apparently it doesn’t matter if it was a friend or not. I don’t even know the logic behind offering a “friend” a vehicle if you knew the tranny was slipping. Fact is if you and your father are the car guys you portray, you know that a slipping tranny is imminent failure. To even offer something like that to someone who is a friend and in that desperate need of a different vehicle to drive while he recovers is un fucking believable and unacceptable. You just plain prayed on his ignorance to the seriousness of the issue. You knew this was a shit deal to begin with, noone on here is ignorant enough to believe that you didn’t.
The ONLY option is to give him his car back. I once sold a car to someone, I never drove said vehicle. They picked the car up and a day later called me telling me the car wouldn’t go above 45 and wouldn’t shift out of second. I didn’t owe these people anything, it was a fucking $500 car for christ sake. But I gave them their money back because it was the right thing to do. I then disposed of said vehicle.
Worst part about this is that you can’t claim ignorance, I called you out on those cars having tranny issues in someone elses for sale thread when you tried to trade it. Its a shame that I was right.
Joey should be banned from the For Sale forum and appropriate negative feedback should be left. Vote on it. Your dad can defend you all he wants, but if he sees nothing wrong with this then he should be banned from the For Sales too. We don’t need this shit on here.
