I’m looking to avoid wiping and performing a clean install. Every time I open a program I get a R6034 Runtime Error. Usually c:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe or \sysocmgr.exe

What’s the best way to fix this? Forgot to mention I’m running XP Pro SP3

Good chance you have an infection. Run malwarebytes and combofix

As it turns out, it was related to an openoffice install. Malwarebytes and avast came up clean as well as tdss. Once I removed openoffice all my problems went away.
