Mid-Engine Corvette C8 2020

I’ve seen so many of these lately, only a matter of time till you can scoop up a c7 for a bargain.

Go to any car show and you’ll see about 3-5 of them now. I really wish GM didn’t just pump these out and made them more of an exclusive car. I get it’s nice to be able to get your hands on one of these for relatively cheap after a x amount of years but they just turn into another car you see at ever corner and it ruins the appeal to me.

If they were rare and exclusive you wouldn’t be picking one up cheap after X years. See Ford GT prices.

That’s fine with me. I’d prefer a more rare car than a car you see at every corner. Just doesn’t appeal to me after a while of looking at them every where you go. Great cars, just so many of them. I don’t know, maybe GM needs to take a page from Ford and produce a GT style car that is low production numbered. However we know how GM is, if they make a car that out performs their flag ship Corvette, they kill it. :Insert Grand National:

I’m sorry but the base C8 looks like ass regardless of color/options. Has the same ground clearance and wheel gap of a bmw suv. The back 3/4 looks so wrong.

Was thinking the same thing about the wheel gap when I saw one yesterday at transit and main. Thought the owner swapped out the stock tires for rubber bands.

Just slam it then lol

The entire point of the Corvette has always been to make a performance car for the average man.

I think it still needs more tire.

I mean I get that, I guess I’d just love to see GM put their minds together and produce a superior car that is not for everyone. Show they can actually do that and not cut corners to make it cost effective for the average person buying it. Like Ford and the GT. I feel they could do it, but whether or not they actually would… I don’t see it.

I mean do you not think the zr1 is?

[quote]Last year, Ford and Chevrolet got into a bit of a slap fight when the C7 Corvette ZR1 set a lap of 2:37.25 at Virginia International Raceway, toppling the previous course record of 2:38.62, which was set by the Ford GT.[\quote]

Zr1’s ain’t re selling for 2mil +

It’s not all about just performance. I’m talking the full luxury package of no expense spared. Let’s face it, the corvette is a great performance car but the production quality for the fit and finish and materials used are no where near what a high end luxury super car has. It would be nice to see GM produce something like that just like Ford and many others. Look at the Lexus LFA, Lexus built it just to show they could with no other real reason.
Again not hating on the Corvette, just would love to see some high end car from GM to show they can do something for the exclusive people.

The proportions are off. I personally think the car looks terrible. For the money ($60-$70k) it’s a great car, but I’m not going to pretend it looks good. Chip Foose did a drawing of how it should have looked, staying within the design specs of the actual car and it turned out 100 x’s better.

Where is this Foose sketch? Yes I’m too lazy to look it up.

I would love to see a 4wd supercharged c8 with the rear end shape fixed somehow.

awh that doesn’t make the company money really and since I’m not in the market for a 1.5M car, I wouldn’t like to see GM do something like that… I’d rather something with great performance that I can buy.

Also have you been inside a vette lately? The inside is pretty nice.

I’m not a HUGE fan of the style, but it seems very super car normal to me?

Not at all impressed with the Foose sketch.

That is a good video. I didn’t know it existed.

I dont love his updates and that seemed weird.
It really is that area behind the door i think.

I wish I could explain it, but 80% of the time when I see one, I like it. That other 20% though…

I would love to know what sorts of consessions designers had to make to appease engineers, sales and marketing folks.

I started.toook for c8 stuff, but was distracted.
So here is a link to something I want to watch later.

Really not a fan of the rendered photo at all. I mean it might be a cool car as something else, but not a vette.
