Mid-Engine Corvette C8 2020

It’s the rear 2/3rds for me. The back doesn’t compliment the front and the side blade needs to be oriented the opposite direction. I also think the wheel options don’t do it any favors. The front is great, can’t get over the rear though.

Either way, it’s still a great car for the money. The interior is pretty rad too. Can’t go wrong with it. After all, it’s got the cool factor, the general public goes nuts seeing one and it performs well.

I’d have to figure one of the biggest things they focused on this time around was cooling and making sure the proper amount of engine cooling takes place for track operation. After the headache they had with the C7 z06, can’t have that problem again.

Still really happy to see they went with the mid-rear which should have happened years ago but they 100% milked the front engine as long as they could to profit as long as possible.

Being naturally aspirated makes the cooling system significantly easier. The last engine was a packaging nightmare as far as getting enough airflow into and out of the heat exchangers. The Camaro team that did the ZL1-1LE did a much better job with the LT4 than the Corvette team did.

edit: The Z06 almost looks too upscale. It doesn’t look mean or aggressive at all.

This is why I’m really happy with it. The current Z06 looks like GM took the base Vette to PepBoys and said “give me most of what you got”. While the current ZR1 they said, “give us everything, plus the tuner section of JC Whitney”. Is there a square inch on the ZR1 they couldn’t glue another wing/spoiler/aero bit on?

So you weren’t the intended customer of this rendering?

I’m pretty sure 12 year old me was the intended customer.

Who ever designed that needs to have his crease tool permanently taken away.

Keep that radar detector away from your rear view mirror…

For owners that hard-wire a radar detector behind the rearview mirror, the aftermarket device can change voltage levels in the vehicle, and specifically targets the side mirrors. This can result in dimmed pieces of glass, or a disturbing image of randomly generated line patterns left in the glass.

They should ask what BMW does because they have had dimming side mirrors for 20+ years.

With how long both radar detectors and mirrors have been around, how do you mess something like this up?

Do you look at GM for this problem or the radar detector company for changing voltage levels?

It is most likely a complete lack of RFI protection on the circuits. I wonder if an old school walkie talkie would do the same.

In my last job, when we tested circuits, voltages and currents in the mA/mV level would go crazy.

Edit.
Maybe not. Might just shitty circuit protection where a 5v wire could possibly get the full 14v or something.

So GM trying to save costs…

Maybe GM can teach them how to install a cup holder

BMW drivers are never in the wrong.

That does suck, but I must say if I had one, I’d probably have been screwed this past weekend. I didn’t realize till it had already puddled but I dropped my bottle of water on the ground in my house, got in the car and drove to HV. About half way there I realize the cup holder was filled a fair amount with water. Apparently I must have punctured a small hole at the bottom of the bottle to allow gravity to upset me. If only I had a BMW, my airbag could have gone off.
