Mid-Engine Corvette C8 2020

Thoughts on the Corvette as a brand?

It worked out super well for Ford with the Mustang EV…sarcasm

Not smart IMO. Corvette is a flagship sports car bordering supercar performance depending on trim. Slapping that name on some 4 door/SUV accomplishes nothing.

It was dumb when Ford did and it’s even more dumb doing it with the Corvette name.

Now onto some more Z06 videos…

I’m about to get a ride in a mach-e in a few minutes. I’ll report back later.

Thoughts? I’m curious because I’m assuming it’s a slightly nicer looking Escape that happens to be electric.

The Lamborghini Urus and Porche Cayenne seem to be pretty popular. Seems like they’re going after that market.

It was incredibly quiet and smooth. This is the second E vehicle I’ve been in, Tesla was the first, also super smooth and quiet because no transmission IIRC.

Mach E definitely hauled ass off the line.

Besides that interior was fine. Big screen in the middle, some cool modes/functions. Not worth 60 grand IMO though.

I don’t think I’ve been in any EV and felt that is was worth the asking price.

Have you been in the hummer yet?

Yeah, I guess to me if I’m spending $100+K it better blow my head off

Just curious if waiting 17 years for my preorder will be worth it…

I am a bit jaded tho I guess, lots of people buying $80K normal trucks which blows my mind. If you want a cool, big, vert, EV wait I’m sure you’ll absolutely love it.

I can barely afford a used $20k car, so fuck electric vehicles.

Once you turn that teaching degree into a corporate innovation training program, you will be golden.

Then make you mega-corp develop a STEM outreach program and het yourself on a board of directors.

Driven it and it is a ball. Something about being way up in the air and hearing the 35s chatter but then launching like a roller coaster.
Would I buy one, probably not. Doesn’t fit anywhere (starting with my garage) among other reasons.
Should have a chance to drive this soon.

We tried buying this when it launched but the website kept crashing and then was sold out in like 12 minutes.
