I am looking to borrow a mig or flux core welder to make a large funnel for my shop and weld up some exhaust parts for our compressor. The steel for the funnel is 20 gauge and the exhaust pipe is just regular steel exhaust pipe. Whatcha got? I will pick up and drop off. I am in Buffalo.
I got my wire feed mig welder you can use. should have enough wire for what you need it for.
If nobody else does it, and you bring the parts to me I can do it. (Or you can use mine if you really have to do it yourself!)
More than likely won’t be mig though… tig + purge = <3 exhaust welds.
I use a TB 302. http://www.millerwelds.com/products/enginedriven/trailblazer_302/
Can bring it to you, but it’ll be $ and prob not worth it for you.
Unless you need to weld it on to the compressor instead of clamping.
then nevermind!
edit;
don’t think i have any .035 wire anyway.
Don’t use it… ever o.O
I am just trying to vent the exhaust outside so I am making extension pieces. I don’t really care how the welds look for this project. And that welder is purty!
I just picked up a Snap On ya212a made by Systematics in PA. It’s a MIG and TIG. I can’t believe the welds I can lay down with just a few hours of practice. It’s a 230 amp unit.
so im guessing you dont need mine anymore? lol
For 20 gauge you might want to pickup a 2 lbs spool of MIG wire called “twenty gauge” by JW Harris. It is great for welding very thin metals, body work and exhaust work. Makes it pretty much impossible to burn through
