ok, so although we’re thinking the same thing about OEM diffs, its probably going to be easier for me to buy a transmission without one and go the aftermarket route.
I haven’t done my research on gearing yet, but i’m open to suggestions. There are an infinite number of options that are available to me since I’m going to be opening it up anyway for the LSD.
well i would go with a dc5r or ep3r used oem diff. they can be sourced for under 400$ usually. and as far as gearing goes
holy crap, I assumed the DC5R would go for much more than the type-s (~$800 from what i’ve seen) If you see one again for $400 let me know ASAP.

we just sold 2 oem diffs for 350 each
used oem diff is an awesome route. they are affordable, plentiful, and work great!
ah, I thought we were talking about the complete transmission. Just the diff makes a hell of a lot more sense. thanks for the links.

i knew that pile of scrap was the rear firewall. are you welding eg front bulkheads into the rear? or building a tube framework?
My goal is to do neither and to keep the maximum amount of factory steel intact and uncompromised (but with significant reinforcements of course).
I’m still working on various solutions to this challenge, but it will be interesting to say the least.
