Did some work to see if I could get the targa rack/targa to still fit in the trunk with the firewall where it will be. First step was to shorten the rack 1/4" from it’s hanging point
It lifts up without the targa contacting the trunk hinge which is the important part. It looks like it still might not clear where the firewall will be. I’ll leave it as is for a while until I actually finish the firewall. I know it seems trivial but being able to pull off the targa and store it in the trunk is important.
yup, I have some of the photos of that one a little ways back. Definitely one of the better ones.
I’m real excited to work on this now that I’m back in Clifton Park but I got in town Saturday and ended up in the hospital sunday-tuesday due to the damn medics at School last month. I’m not allowed back into the garage for a couple weeks.
Looks like I missed some pictures from before I left. Here are some shots of the car actually on the ground and the firewall mocked up. The car needs to be dropped another 1.5" so the motor will have to go down maybe .5 or .75" the wheel wells might need to be tubbed a bit more to allow enough wheel travel in the front and rear so I’ll have a bit more metal work to do.
There is a fabrication website that has that picture on it but I’m not sure if its actually ryane or just using the picture . I did put in a call to rob Moore about his and found a set used for 1500 but it makes me wonder if we(you) should just make a set. With the larger tires at a decent ride height ill only have 1" of suspension ttravel before the uca hits the chassis not to mention the geometry is off with it that low on that big of a tire.
so again dealing with the preferred ride height I’ve been messing with the front of the car instead of the back at least until I get some more parts in for the motor so I can do a final mockup and finally fab the engine mounts.
one last cardboard temp mirrors the cuts from one side of car to the other so the blue templates can simply be turned inside out and used again for the other side.
