modded x box 360 what should i look for before i buy?

ive been offered a modded 360.

he says “the games r backups… burned off dvd so to speak however ssytem plays store bought and burned copies…”

anything to becareful of?

Check what “modded” means. If the seller put a firmware chip in or other mods that tie into the electrical system of the box such as fans, leds, etc. The box has a slightly higher chance of being detected on live.

If its just a firmware mod on the drive, then just check what version and drive it is. The best ones to look for are Samsung and BenQ. If its a Hitachi stay away from it. Hard to upgrade and more likely to be caught online.

Game wise, make sure they are verified using DVDMulleter disk check to make sure there is no corrupted data/video/stealth sectors on them or again, you become very likely to be caught.

thx

so if you dont play a burned game online can they still detect it?

The Hitachis have more risk in theory because they have an onboard flash chip that is capable of running code at startup of the drive. This is not used yet, just a theory.

Also, if you are playing improperly burned games offline, the console is said to log them and can ban you when connecting.

i wont be using it online. im more concerned about precautions to the ring of death
