MoHud SCCA Auto X Sat and Sun April 25/26, 2009

Well ill have 2 more events in by the next scca event. I do see what your saying. Maybe a better set of tires would be a good choice? mine didnt do very well, and ive heard great things about the azenis rt615

Seat time and tires are the keys to success at the local level. The Azenis are good inexpensive tires but they are a ~5yr old model and they are not ideal for rain on a daily driver. They will be better than most of the high perfomance summer tires out there but there are other tires that outperform them for a little bit more money.

The current top performers are:
Kumho Ecsta XS
Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs
Bridgestone RE01R
Bridgestone RE11

And remember that all of these have relatively low wear ratings so anticipate replacing them each year.

and the best part is that all of the tires I suggested can handle some heat so you can’t use your tires as an excuse not to come to the track…

LOL --Good job spreading the disease Jeff.

Yeah i dont mind the treadwear because i have 2 other sets of new tires on wheels so i wont daily on these. I do plan on autoxing alot and tracking atleast once so the cost will be worth it. I definitely want to stick to street tires though. Maybe r-comps a few years down the road.

results are up for those who care: http://www.mohud-scca.org/Discuss/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1804
