Back in the day when it was playstaion vs n64 i was always behind nintendo. People would always use the arguement that playstaion has more games. At the time i orked in a video store and pulled out the games that had no business being games. ie. Mary kate and ashley games, barbie games and my favorite pa rappa the rapper. And they were dead even. Sony has been mass producing junk and they have lived on GTA and gran turismo. If those games were available for both systems right away i think ps2 would have had alot less sales. I know 2 people that own ps2s jsut to play the GTA games when they come out.

Back to the topic. I give big props for Microsoft for doing all they can to rush to the market first. But to say one is greater is just crazy. I can’t to see what the PS3 offers. All these “rumors” are just that. Probably started by Microsoft no less… they do after all wonder what it’s like to be #1. Don’t believe shit until you see it with your own eyes when it hits… otherwise you’re a fool like everyone else.
Final Fantasy series and Capcom games have kept Sony alive because it’s not available on Xbox or Nintendo consoles.

At the time, I didn’t like too many games for Xbox either. I only used it to watch DVD’s. Gemna Onimusha was probably my favorite game on Xbox. Since I didn’t play it enough, I sold it and bought a turbo and haven’t looked back since.
Well I do love GT.
There are lots of games for PS2 that you can’t get on Xbox and vise versa. I think for my tastes though, PS2 had a better offering.
I sold my Xbox to help pay for a 4 wheel disk brake conversion on the Stang.
Learn to read between the lines… “backward compatible with the top Xbox games”, or in other words Halo.
“Our goal is to have every Xbox game work on Xbox 360.”, which means as of now only the “top” (I think I saw that somewhere else) games will work, but maybe we might get a few more games out. By using “our goal” it means they might or might not have every game working onthe xbox 360.
Until someone from MS says “Every xbox game will work on the xbox 360” the 360 does NOT have backwards compatibility…

In addition to Halo and Halo 2, they say the Xbox 360 will also play all other Microsoft Game Studios games and Rare’s ‘Conker and Grabbed By The Ghoulies’. As said before to make an Xbox game work on the Xbox 360 you’ll need to download a ‘driver’ on Xbox LIVE, so you’ll need a 360 with harddisk (some ‘drivers’ will probably be preloaded on HD already).
They also repeat the rumor that Halo and Halo 2 will get slightly improved graphics on the 360, and maybe some other titles too in the future.
What’s really new is that the article claims there will be a way to transfer your original Xbox saves to your Xbox 360 via Ethernet from HD to HD. So if true maybe your saved games won’t be lost after all…
I find it curious how you claim to have to aversion to either console, no interest in either console, and yet you are keeping yourself abreast of the current events pertaining to said consoles… 
btw while you’re beating the backwards compatibility drum – 100% of psx games are not compatible with ps2. if i remember correctly there are quite a few psx titles that will not play on the ps2. i won’t even mention the fact that many older ps2 consoles won’t even play gt4… or maybe i will lol.
btw before you call me a xbox-luVer – i owned a ps2 (actually 2, one i bought when it was $300), and 20 retail, non-burned games.
one last thing – i’ll also mention is passing at this point that Sony was the originator of – and set the standards for – backwards compatibility. for that they deserve major credit.

I had that problem. I took the PS2 apart and cleaned the laser. Its worked perfectly everytime now.
