Most underated import.

you’re a little mistaken.

the Lotus Elan got its engine from Isuzu, not vice versa.

Another thing is that at that time period, Lotus was owned by Proton, and churning out absolute garbage. The suspension IS good for a car of its era, BUT I think just about any aftermarket spring/shock combo on a Geo Storm would handle just as well. The AWD is nice.

Interestingly enough, the Elan had a radar detector built into the instrument panel.

That was going to be my pick.

'88 -'89 323 GTX

Too bad a lot of them have been bought up and wrecked by the rally guys. That doesn’t leave much left.

either way it was a hella fun car for the time…

[QUOTE=
most under rated fwd- the rabbit gti. lets face it, the rabbit gti was made in 1983. this predates the civic/crx si by a few years. the rabbit is the original “hot hatch”. followed up closely is the omni glh models.

Couldn’t Agree more

Couldn’t agree with you more…

1g CRXs - light, 85 Si’s are perfect for b series swaps, only downfall is the truck like suspension

MR2 - i rarely see any in the area even stock.

Omni GLH(what ever model had the turbo) - seen some with 400hp easy. Such a shit box but I would rock one.

You guys have it all wrong. Cars like the Omni GLH are reasonably well known.

I think the underrated import of all time is the Z31:

Anyone agree?

^^ my old man has one of those ('88 to be exact) that he is dumping a ton of money into for no particular reason. theyre nice. not really fast, but theyre a fun car to drive…

i’d pick the ae86, but it’s not underrated…almost none of these cars are anymore.

soooo
i say the dc2 or the 323
i dont think either is hyped up much as being ba.

wait until fast and furious 3 comes out. the u.s. will be filled with 17 year old drifters buying any and all 240’s that they can. if you have a 240 now and are looking to sell it wait until about a week or 2 after that movie comes out and then sell it. they will probably double in value.

1990 Ford probe GT (turbo) not to be f*cked with

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :mullet:

Turbo caravan >

Ford Escort Cosworth, buying your own rally car couldn’t be better.

Subaru SVX, $40,000 new in 1991, AWD Awesome car.

toyota supra

240s were popular, there’s a million used ones so they must have sold at one point. some cars aren’t underated so much as obscure (510’s)

gearheads celica was a good one, someone said a 323 i didn’t even know they had turbo or awd 323s so i like that one

yeah i love the cosworth…

how bout the old swift…didn’t they have a turbo version?

i loved the styling but didn’t like how it was only offered in an auto tranny.

Suzuki Swift GTi was a 1300cc, DOHC, 100 hp Geo Metro with Recaro seats and four wheel discs… no turbo though.

Yes but hardly anyone ever modified them up until recently.
