Motorcyclists... have you ever dropped your bike?

I have… lowsided, wheelie accident, knocked off kickstand, fell off normal stands…

it happens… no shame in my game.

There are only two types of riders:

  1. Those who have gone down.
  2. Those who are going to go down.

Other thread is better.

Shrives sucks. hate hate hate

You forgot the “I dropped somebody else’s bike, I’m an asshole” option.

Will, you have forgotten the rolling burnout fail

Nope. 25k miles on many bikes, none touched the ground.

I guess I am just AWESOME.

I love Jay Wonch.

Sorry to ever argue with you, Sir Wheeliebeen!!!

What was I thinking?

I dropped my first bike trying to go around my first corner.

Dumped my Harley taking a sharp turn into my work parking lot. It was dark and I didn’t see the gravel.

i went down going slow on my 94 ninja 600 when i was 17. on amherst or something near niagara, looking back to try and find my buddy and hit a huge grate. damn bike was heavy to pick back up. nothing broken sans a ghey turn signal

Who hasnt

If I hear this one more time Im going to kill small kittens.

Once in a gravel driveway while backing up.

Stood the bike up and ran off into the gravel once at mid-ohio, stupid mistake. damn turn 11, I never got another shot at it after that…one day though.

 Fair enough. The first time I heard it was right after I low-sided pulling a u-turn in the cul-de-sac at the west end of Lake Rd on the east side of the bay in Webster before the outlet bridge was out. I was just turning around, leaned too far, exhaust took the place of the rear rubber on the pavement, I was on my ass before I knew it. Some guy who was one of the many spectators walking with their families came over to check on me. Shook my hand, told me the above bullshit, and wished me well. I brushed the gravel out of my elbow, put my turn signal in my pocket, and rode home humbled.

Second time I left UB North at the same time as a couple of buddies of mine by coincidence. We hit maple, I goosed it and changed lanes in front of them like a jackass, looked up, saw the brake lights of a rapidly approaching Blazer. Squeezed the front brake, jammed the rear. The rear end of the bike passed the front, I bailed to the left. I rolled about halfway up the blazer while my bike got wedged underneath. I got up, yanked my bike out from under the Blazer, apologized to the driver, rode into the Tops parking lot, got off, put the front wheel between my legs, yanked the bars back into alignment with the wheels, and rode back to campus with my tail between my legs.

Now I have a wife and a boat. I’ve only fallen out of the boat once.

yes but it was not on pavement.

I had a DR650 fall on me when i was 16, and low sided a dr200 while fucking around on grass around the same age.

Dropped my current bike in the driveway first day I got it and on the street in an uneven gutter. Now I have ubertall shoes and haven’t dropped it since.

Literally set my first bike on its side taking one of my first corners too slow in my neighborhood. Did nothing more than put a couple scuffs in the plastic.

The next week I was in a church parking lot continuing to get familiar with the bike. My brother was with me at the time and he looked rather bored so I let him take it for a quick spin. Needless to say he burped the throttle trying to make a turn and lowsided her pretty good. scratched the crankcase cover, broke the shift lever, scratched the tail, and the fairing. Ugh I was ‘Paulo pissed.’

That’s about all i’ve got for now.

Dropped off stands with no wheels on it, dropped in parking lot off the kickstand and set down practicing circles at UB.

I have dropped mine in the garage a few times.

Prev owner lowsided runing from the popo, so the olny time I caused damage was last winter when I broke off my bar end mirror.

I have not gone down while in motion. Lots of close calls, but never a get off.

Parking lot drop, turning too sharp, first day with it (no damage!)

Driveway drop, Just being lazy, (Mirror, clip on, tail fairing, pegs)

Im actually glad I dropped it, Ive learned a lot since then and won’t make those mistakes again.

not yet… but i only have a couple miles under my belt

I dump my dirtbike at least 3 times a month

i ride/race a supermoto, som-bitch is always checking out the tera firma

Still floating around 80%… shrives… i rest my case. punk.
